🚓This week we are learning about different occupations. We were very lucky on Monday to have a visit from some police officers 🚨
First they came into playgroup to tell us a bit about what they do and to answer the children’s questions. 🚓
We then went outside to the school car park to see the police car! The children tried on a police cap and jacket and then we were shown all the different things they have in the boot of the car! The children then enjoyed sitting in the drivers seat of the car and getting to turn on the flashing lights! Afterwards the police sounded the sirens which were very loud! 🚨

🧺 This week we have been learning the story of ‘Handa’s Surprise’ through a range of fun activities. 🥭

🍍The children enjoyed drawing and painting pictures of a variety of fruits. They practised their cutting skills by carefully chopping different fruits and enjoyed using their senses to explore them – smelling, touching, and tasting each one. 🍋
🍊 We also used juicers to squeeze oranges, lemons and limes. 🍋‍🟩
🥝 It has been a wonderful week full of creativity, discovery, and lots of fruity fun.🍌

As it was National smile day on 31st May have been learning all about the importance of brushing our teeth 🦷 🪥
We have also been learning about healthy eating and enjoyed reading the book ‘Kitchen Disco’ 🍍 🍋

🌱 🪴🍓 Over the last few months the children have planted seeds and plants in our growing area outside. They have continued to water them and watch them grow. After a long time of waiting and looking after our plants, the children were so excited to see that we had our first couple of strawberries appear on the plants outside. 🌱 🪴 🍓

🪹 The children have been very excited to discover blue t**s nesting in the bird box in our garden. We have enjoyed quietly watching the birds fly to and from the nest and listening carefully to hear the baby birds chirping inside.

This week we had our annual trip to a local farm. The children and staff had such a great time, we saw some cows, sheep, horses and lambs and were so lucky to be able to feed and cuddle some baby lambs. We are so grateful to be able to visit each year, thank you so much Suki Cook 😊 🐑 🐄 🐴 🚜
