The last time Wales went down to 9th was when they happened to lose at home to Samoa ( remember also Robert Jones was denied his ‘save!’). WHEN they were put into the England & Aussie group in RWC 2015 & Wales won at Twickers. The question why WR cannot make the draw nearer to the RWC year, FIFA can! I think that this old ‘Elephant’ Rankings is far from perfect .. but you cannot please all the people, all of the time! If the 4 pools of 4 are altered of course ( with 24 teams, one wonders if 16 teams will go through to the KO stages & not 8. I believe that means four third placed teams would qualify & 8 teams would go home.
