Something special happened in Pre School this morning 🐣

Excitement was in the air as Gemma brought in our newly hatched chicks! We made them a fresh bed, made sure they had food and water, and somewhere warm and comfy to sleep.

We sat quietly, holding them gently and have been checking them to make sure they are all settled in. They are very noisy! 🐥

We went on a lovely walk around the Village this morning. We saw a pheasant, butterflies, sheep and lambs 🐑 🦋

Pre-school will close for half term on Thursday 21st May at 12.30pm and re-open on Monday 1st June

Marching into Spring 🌷🐑

Exciting things are happening at Downham Pre School🐣📕

The Children wore pyjamas for World Book Day and all brought their favourite book in to share. They read a story all about Chickens and carefully placed eggs into our incubator, learning about the optimum temperature needed to help them hatch.

Since then we’ve been asked approximately every ten seconds … “Have they hatched yet?” 😀

Hopefully we see some fluffy little chicks in a few weeks! We’ll keep you updated on our hatching adventure.

The decluttering trend encourages us to decant our cleaning products into jars and other prettier dispensers. But this can put your child at risk.

Here’s why:

1. Chemicals in cleaning products can cause serious harm. Including life-changing chemical burns to eyes, skin and throats.

2. Cleaning products come in child-resistant packaging for a reason – to slow children down and reduce the chance of accidents.

3. The original bottles have essential information about first aid, chemical ingredients and proper handling. If an accident should happen, you’ll need this to hand.

4. Out of their original container, cleaning products are easier to mistake for a drink or sweets. So, the risk of a child swallowing them is much higher.

So, please keep products in their original containers and out of reach of curious little hands.
