Well done to all our amazing team who have got a joint Bairdie of the month for August.

This month it was chosen by management who our bairdie of the month was, but all of our fantastic staff have gone the the extra mile.

Over the summer everyone has completed extra training to make sure their professional development standards are as high as can be.

Every has enjoyed a lovely buffet lunch and I’m sure everyone agrees it’s well deserved 💙❤️

As another nursery year comes to an end, we find ourselves feeling incredibly proud, but also a little emotional, as we say goodbye to some very special children and their families. Some that we have had for a few months to the others that we have had for over 4 years 😞

✨️ To all of our parents, thank you for choosing Early Bairds Nursery and for trusting us with something so precious — your children. It is a privilege that we never take for granted. ✨️

💚 Over the years, we have had the joy of watching your little ones grow from tiny babies and toddlers into confident, kind and independent children, ready to take their next big step into school. We have shared their first friendships, first words, big achievements, little challenges, laughter, cuddles and countless special moments along the way. 💚

✨️ Thank you for allowing us to be part of those memories and for placing your trust in our team. We hope that when you look back on your child's time at Early Bairds, you remember it as a place where they were loved, cared for, encouraged and truly celebrated for who they are. ✨️

🥰 Although we are saying goodbye, you will always be part of the Early Bairds family. We will miss seeing those little faces walking through our doors each morning, and we will miss all the wonderful personalities that have filled our nursery with so much happiness. 🥰

🌟 What a week of learning opportunities we have had! 🌟

We have had so many exciting new learning opportunities in nursery this week! 🦧🍋 The bairdies have loved exploring new experiences, asking questions, sharing ideas and learning through hands-on play.

🦧 Orangutan Day – We discovered where orangutans live, what they eat and how they move. This supported the children’s Understanding the World, while developing their Communication and Language through new vocabulary, questions and conversations.

🍋 National Lemonade Day – We explored lemons using our senses, talked about taste, smell and texture and enjoyed making lemonade together. The bairdies developed their Mathematics through measuring and counting, Physical Development through pouring and mixing, and Understanding the World by exploring changes to ingredients.

Throughout the week, the children have been encouraged to think critically, make choices, solve problems and share their ideas, supporting the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning. 🌱

We love creating meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity and help our children learn through play, exploration and real-life experiences. 💛✨

🦎 Happy National Lizard Day 🌿

Today, our little bairdies have leaped into the fascinating world of reptiles to celebrate National Lizard Day! Across all our areas, the children engaged in hands-on, sensory-rich activities designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and discovery.
🎨 How We Explored & Learned Today:
Sensory & Mark-Making Trays: The children explored textured trays with sand, leaves, and green tones to replicate lizard habitats, practicing their fine motor control through scooping, pouring, and sensory play.

We created Lizard Crafts & Counter Patterns: Using bright colors, counters, buttons, and paint, the children designed their own unique lizard scales and patterns, exploring textures, shapes, and counting as they created.

Lizard Puzzles & Fine-Motor Tasks: From matching puzzle pieces to complete green iguana pictures to manipulating playdough and tool stations, the children flexed their problem-solving and concentration skills!

Reptile Discovery & Descriptive Vocabulary: Together, we talked about where lizards live, what makes their skin special, and introduced rich new descriptive words like scales, camouflaged, cold-blooded, and habitat.

A Huge Well Done!
Our bairdies showed fantastic curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day—working together, sharing resources, and asking brilliant questions about the natural world! 💚

🐘 World Elephant Day at Nursery! 🐘

Today we celebrated World Elephant Day with lots of fun, hands-on activities! The children enjoyed learning about elephants, including where they live, what they eat and some of the special features that make elephants unique.

🎯 Elephant Ring Toss – The children developed their physical skills, hand-eye coordination and aiming as they tried to throw rings onto the elephant’s trunk.

🐘 Elephant Dress-Up & Role Play – Through imaginative play, the children enjoyed pretending to be elephants, encouraging communication, language, imagination and social interaction.

🎨 Learning About Elephants – We talked about elephant characteristics, their habitats and the importance of caring for animals and our natural world.

These activities supported the EYFS, including Physical Development, Communication and Language, Understanding the World, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Expressive Arts and Design.

A wonderful day of learning through play, exploring and having fun! 🐘💚
