"How’s A-Level Maths going?"
(And why your Year 12 might not be giving you the real answer...)
If you have a son or daughter who just started Year 12 Maths, they're likely in one of two modes right now:
"It's fine, basically just GCSE stuff."
Or deflecting because they are secretly overwhelmed by the pace.
Moving from GCSE to A-Level is the biggest academic leap in the UK curriculum. It moves twice as fast, and strong results at GCSE don't always prepare you for the step up.
A gentle question to ask them over dinner tonight:
"Are the homework questions taking longer than 30 minutes, or are you getting stuck on where to begin?"
Building a strong foundation early prevents the December mock panic!
