Congratulations to our two recipients of the Creative Star Awards for 2025–2026, Clara and Leo! 🌟

This is only the second year we have presented this special award, which celebrates creativity in all its forms — from art, music and design to storytelling, problem-solving, imagination and innovation.

We were delighted to welcome back Mrs Stretch, once a much-loved teacher and Music Lead at St John’s and now a National Education Lead for the Arts with Twinkl, to present the awards to this year’s winners.

Well done, Clara and Leo — a wonderful achievement and thoroughly deserved!

CAMP UPDATE 1:

A perfect first day under the cover of the Forest of Dean. Children have settled into their rooms and we’re all enjoying the new air con in the lounge!

Key Stage 2 were lucky enough to take part in a series of workshops run by Papaya. The focus was me and my screen. Children found out facts about how screen time can affect concentration, focus, wellbeing and mental health. They found out that if you spend 5 hours a day on a screen, over the course of a year that equates to 75 days and over a lifetime over 14 years!
The staff from Papaya shared with the children a fantastic app called Forest. This app helps you to reduce the number of times you look at your phone and take control over your technology use. It encourages you to spend longer without your phone and will reward you by planting real life trees.

Well done Kites 1 👏

What a wonderful class service this afternoon! From geography and science to poetry — the children shared such a wide range of learning with confidence, enthusiasm and pride. We even enjoyed a little dance too!

The children were confident, well-spoken and a real credit to the school. We are so proud of them all.

Following on from Kites 2’s class service, we now look forward to hearing from Falcons in the coming weeks.

With the warmer weather finally here, Mrs Holland has been outside varnishing the CDs designed by the children ☀️
