🌟 Platinum School Games Mark Achieved! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that Elliston Academy has been awarded the Platinum School Games Mark for the 2025/26 academic year. πŸ†πŸ‘

The School Games Mark is a nationally recognised, government-backed award scheme in England that acknowledges schools for their commitment to the development of high-quality physical education, school sport, and physical activity.
It is designed to celebrate schools that:
Foster inclusive participation, ensuring all pupils have access to sport and physical activity
Provide a diverse and engaging range of opportunities both within and beyond the curriculum
Promote competition, leadership, and teamwork
Support pupils’ physical health, mental wellbeing, and personal development

This amazing achievement is a true reflection of our ongoing commitment to high-quality PE, inclusive sport, and providing opportunities for all pupils to be active and enjoy physical activity βš½πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
At Elliston, we will continue to inspire a love of sport, promote wellbeing, and celebrate every success along the way!

A huge thank you goes to North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership for their continued support and the excellent opportunities they provide for our children.

ADVICE FROM OUR LOCAL BEACH SAFETY!!!

***** SAFETY ADVICE *****

⚠️ Mud Flats Safety – Cleethorpes Beach

If you get stuck in mud:

πŸ‘ Stay calm
Do not struggle or pull forcefully β€” this can make you sink deeper
Sit or lie back to spread your weight over a larger surface
Dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard
Use your phone, whistle, or wave to attract attention
Do not encourage others to try to rescue you β€” they could get stuck too

πŸ‘ Extra safety tips (before it happens):
Avoid walking onto mudflats, especially when the tide is coming in
Check tide times before visiting
Stick to clearly marked safe areas
Keep children and dogs away from soft mud zones
If walking near mud, carry a phone and let someone know your plans

Mud flats at Cleethorpes can look firm but act like quicksand, and fast-moving tides can cut off escape routes in minutes.

🌊 Tides – Critical Warning
You must be clear of all sandbanks along Cleethorpes Beach
Tides can come in very quickly, surrounding sandbanks without warning
Leave sandbanks at least 5 hours before high tide
If you are cut off by the tide, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard immediately

πŸ‘‰ Do not take risks. Call for help early.
