Parents old and new...
I write to inform you that I have made the incredibly difficult decision to sell Katie’s Kinder Care after owning and running it for 19 years. I haven’t come to this decision lightly but as my husband is coming up to retirement age and my girls are now all grown up, it feels like the right time to sell.
I have given Katie’s Kinder Care all my energy and commitment over the years to establish a fantastic nursery, with a great local reputation where children have thrived under the amazing staff team we have, and had, here over the years. It has been such a joy and my greatest pleasure to watch so many children grow and develop into confident little people as they moved on to school each year. Seeing these same children, now as amazing young adults makes me so proud that my nursery played a small role in their development into adulthood.
The reason Katie’s Kinder Care has been so successful over the years is down to the incredible staff who work and have worked here. Their care, creativity and passion are what has made Katie’s so great! My nursery wouldn’t be the place it is today without these amazing individuals, many who have been with me for years and given me 100% support in every way, I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me, my family and Katie’s.
Katie’s Kinder Care has today been purchased by Kids Planets Day Nurseries. Kids Planet was set up in 2008 by Claire Roberts and her father John Hoban and they now have over 200 nurseries across the UK. When I first met with Kids Planet to discuss the sale of Katie’s Kinder Care, it was important to me that even though they are one of the biggest nursery providers in the UK, they are still owned and run by the same family who started it way back in 2008. They are very much involved (along with their management teams) in ensuring their nurseries deliver the best early education and care to children and families.
I have been working with Kids Planet over the last couple of months to ensure the seamless transition and handover of nursery. I will also be posting their letter introducing themselves later on this evening onto both our social media pages for everyone's information.
I know that whenever there is change it can be unsettling but please let me assure parents that the staff at nursery will remain the same, they will continue to provide the amazing care they have always done. Josie and Ashton will also continue to lead nursery forward and are available to speak to at any time.
Finally, I would like to thank my lovely staff team, parents and children for such wonderful memories and the opportunities I have had to grow both personally and professionally over the years. I am excited to embark on this new phase of my life and wish everyone the very best.
Kate ❤️
