📕This morning started off well when this super young man came to read to Miss Wilkinson and Mrs Pritchard. They couldn’t believe how awesome he was at it!
✏️ Soon after, these three young ladies came to share their excellent English work. Harper, Ce-Ce, and Emmie produced some fantastic work on settings.

☘🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️**SPORTS DAY VENUE CHANGE**🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️☘
🌟Due to the pitch conditions, from this lovely summer weather we are having, 🌧the Wath Brow Hornets field is no longer suitable for our sports day this afternoon. We have managed to secure at alternative venue at CLEATOR MOOR ASTRO TURF for the same time of 1pm.
🌟We will however keep a close eye on the weather and should conditions change significantly we may be forced to cancel or cut the event short. Children will all have their jackets with them and can be collected after the event.
🌟Thankyou for your continued support.

⭐️ Remi ⭐️

Today, Remi came to show Mrs Pritchard his amazing work! He worked independently and was very keen to show it off. Miss McDowell was so proud of Remi, she jumped in on the photo too.
We are so lucky to have Remi at St Pat’s…he is a superstar ⭐️💚

⭐️ Jayden ⭐️

This afternoon, this young man really brightened up the headteachers’ day by sharing his History work. He has been looking at how daily life differs in Ancient Egypt compared to life today. Jayden works exceptionally hard and we are sooo proud of him ⭐️💚⭐️

⭐️ Chapter One’s ‘Outstanding School Award’ ⭐️

📕Chapter One is an online reading programme that provides one-to-one reading for children delivered by a team of volunteers.

📕Some of our Year 3 children have been participating in the programme since September.

📕The ‘Outstanding School Award’ was given to the school who engaged the most with the programme and the amount of progress made. This was out of 97 schools….AND WE WON!

📕 Mrs Bell and Mr Pritchard were invited to London to receive the award, but because it’s a really busy few weeks, they opted to attend online (but this didn’t stop Mrs Bell getting her face on centre stage 🤣). However, the trophy is being posted and should be with us soon!

📕 A special thank you to Miss Hamblet, Mrs Bell, Mr Pritchard and Mrs Lewthwaite for supporting the children in accessing the programme.

📚🐺Class 8 children took part in a live workshop with Alice Roberts, author of 'Wolf Road'. This book has been their class reader so they were all excited to 'virtually' meet the author behind the story. Mr Pritchard spotted this book and thought it would be a perfect to bring their knowledge and understanding of prehistory to life. Everyone who attended was invited to ask questions for Alice to select from and answer. Guess what? Our question, suggested by Sebby, was chosen!!! 🔍🐞🦟 Nurture group visited the Nature School today. They read a story about a very greedy bee and then went on a mini-beast hunt! 🦟🐞🔍

They simply are a group of superstars 💚

It was Year 3’s turn to visit the Nature School today. They listened to a story in this glorious weather and in these beautiful surroundings ☀️🌿💚

☀️ Summer Ball ☀️

The PTA are hosting a summer ball. Tickets will be available from the school office from this Friday ☘️💚

🌳🌿 The first of many visits to our Nature School this afternoon was from one of our nurture groups. The children enjoyed listening to The Gruffalo and searching for places where the characters from the story could live in our forest 🌿🌳

☀️🍦Summer Fete 2024 🍦☀️

☀️🍦On Friday, we held our annual Summer Fete! It was a wonderful afternoon 😍 We were joined by Cleator Moor Brass and our children performed some amazing songs and dances from other cultures.

☀️🍦As you know, these events don’t organise themselves, and so a special thank you goes to Mrs Johnston, Mrs Bell, Mr Reid, the Brass Band, the mini Vinnies, the Year 6 tour guides, the stall volunteers, the PTA, and the rest of our fabulous staff who all go above and beyond for our school every single day.

We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did 💚
