What a very special evening for two of our wonderful children, who have won awards at ‘The Primary Engineering Awards’. A big thank you to Mrs Mossop who leads on this project and to Miss Hewitt for attending the awards. We are very proud! 😊

Thank you to Rest & play for allowing our 2’s to come up for a play this morning. They all thoroughly enjoyed it. 😁

This weeks story was Elmer! We have been exploring the jungle, working in a group to create a huge Elmer to go on our wall and played a game of pin the trunk on Elmer. 🐘

Some children have made England flags ready to cheer the boys on🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This week our book of the week has been Ten Little Superheroes. We have made story maps, designed superhero capes and made super slides for our story about, Super Duper Penguin Slide. Today we made England flags to cheer on our fantastic football team! 😀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We’re going on a bear hunt 🐻

The children all enjoyed going on a hunt for all the bears that were playing hide and seek. We have been looking at the different textures and repeating the phrases from the story.

This weeks book was Guess how much I love you. We have been looking at foods that bunny’s might eat, collecting leaves for little nut browns bed and making bunny head bands. 🐰

Ending the week off with a visit from Lennox’s chicks 🐥

Our book this week has been Dear Zoo. We have been reading stories about animals, painting animals and have played “guess the animal”. We have been learning about shapes, looking for circles in our classroom. We decorated biscuits like zebra’s and tigers for snack. 😊

Dear Zoo and helping others 🥰

Cumberland are offering this FREE programme to parents of children aged 10 months to 24 months. Families who are offered a place on Playtime with Books will receive four picture books, online guidance about sharing books with their child, and 1-to-1 video calls with a facilitator.

Our book of the week has been, Superhero in your Book. We have been making superhero headbands and dressed up as superheroes. We talked about having superhero powers and the power of being kind. 😊

This week is healthy eating week which tied in nicely with our story - The Very Hungry caterpillar 🐛
We have been focusing on the days of the week and eating the fruit that is mentioned on that day for snack. 🍎 🍐 🍊 🍓

This means that we are open everyday in term time from 8.00am until 4.00pm and we can be flexible with all of our sessions for children aged 2-4 years old.

What a busy week! From brushing our teeth, fun in the garden and chilling out with our books! 📚

We also celebrated D Day’s 80th Anniversary by making a large poppy together 💂‍♀️

Our book of the week has been, SuperTato. We have been learning about different vegetables and eating healthily. Lots of children completed our mission to eat some vegetables, well done superheroes! The children made a special poppy display to commemorate D Day. We have enjoyed using our new computer 😊

This weeks story was The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. We’ve been building bridges, painting goats and trolls, searching through slime for the characters and tasting goats cheese.

Our book this week has been, ‘ The Little Red Hen’. We have been watering our plants, making wheat flour dough and mixing at our ‘flour’ station. This week in ‘move to write’ we have been writing diagonal lines. Have a great half term everyone.

The book of the week in the rainbow room was Goldilocks and the three bears 🐻

We’ve had a visit from the library bus where the children got to choose some new books for us to have in school. 🚌

We’ve had a boogie in the garden and lots of water play while the sunshine was here ☀️

Next week we’re going to be reading Three Billy Goats Gruth 🐐

Our book of the week has been “ The Princess and the Greedy Pea”. We have been planting in our garden, building castles and retelling stories using puppets. Our ‘Move to Write’ group work was all about writing a cross. We also had a visit from the Library bus. We listened to a story and we chose some new books.

The rainbow room’s story this week was The Three Little Pigs 🐖 🐺

We have been busy:
⭐️building houses for the pigs 🏠
⭐️making pink collages
⭐️making piggy biscuits
And lots more.

The children were all very good at remembering the words that the pigs and the wolf say. 😁

Our fabulous children took part in The Primary Engineer Leaders Award competition. All the entries were amazing. However we are thrilled to announce that TWO of our children, Logan and Izzy, are the winners in the ‘Nursery School’ category and they will have the opportunity to attend an awards ceremony in July. 🤩

⭐️made brown collages
⭐️and played games including props from the story.

Today we had a visit from Whitehaven Fire Station which the children thoroughly enjoyed. 🚒

Today we had a visit from the Whitehaven Green Watch firefighters. We looked at the equipment and the fire engine. A big thank you to the green watch for their time as we all had a wonderful morning. Whitehaven Fire Station offer advice to the community about fire safety and smoke alarms.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our fantastic team here at Cleator Moor Nursery School.
