This week we have been enjoying the story Hey, Water! and exploring all things water. The children have been learning about the different ways water moves, where we can find water, the many ways it is used, and why water is so important for living things.
We took part in lots of exciting hands-on activities to support our learning, including:
Ice painting
Playing and exploring in the rain
Spraying water from the hose pipe
Ice exploration and discovery activities
These experiences helped the children investigate how water changes and behaves while developing their curiosity, communication, and understanding of the world.
We also had a special visit from Phil, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. In addition, we practised using the balance bikes, helping to develop our confidence, coordination, and gross motor skills.
The children have had lots of fun learning through play this week and have shown great enthusiasm during all of our water-themed activities. Well done everyone! ⭐😊

What a busy and exciting week we have had in Nursery! Our story focus this week has been Tiddler, inspiring lots of underwater adventures. The children enjoyed exploring water play, creating beautiful sea creature collages and learning about the many fascinating creatures that live in our oceans. We have also been focusing on water safety, discussing how to stay safe near water and practising being starfish that float. The children looked carefully at different water related pictures and talked about which situations were safe and unsafe. In maths, we counted fish in the maths area and matched fish patterns. To finish the week, we took part in a fantastic Balance Bike Day, which was an amazing experience that all the children thoroughly enjoyed.

We are incredibly proud to have taken part in the Primary Engineer Leaders Awards this year!

A huge congratulations to all of our children who put their creativity, imagination, and engineering skills into their fantastic designs. We are especially delighted to celebrate our two outstanding winners, whose innovative ideas and hard work were recognised in this prestigious competition.

What an amazing achievement! We couldn’t be prouder of their success and the enthusiasm shown by all of our young engineers.

Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to Primary Engineer for providing such an inspiring opportunity for children to explore the world of engineering and innovation.

🌟 What a fantastic week we've had in our 2-Year-Old Room! 🌟
This week we have been enjoying the wonderful story Dear Zoo. The children have been learning about the difference between animals you might find in a zoo and animals that make good pets. We also learnt the names of all the animals from the story and practised using simple descriptive words to talk about them. The children loved joining in with the repeated phrases from the book and became very confident retelling parts of the story.
A highlight of our week was a special visit from Pet Encounter, which the children absolutely loved! They enjoyed meeting and learning about a variety of animals up close.
Throughout the week, we took part in lots of exciting activities linked to our story, including:
🎨 Painting our favourite animals from Dear Zoo
🦁 Exploring our Dear Zoo sensory tuff tray
🐾 Sharing photos and talking about our pets from home during group time
πŸƒ Taking part in movement sessions, moving in different ways just like the animals from the story
We have also spent lots of time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and engaging in a variety of sensory play experiences.
It has been a week full of learning, exploration, and fun, and we are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been! ❀️

What a fantastic week we’ve had in Nursery!

Our focus story this week has been Pirates Love Underpants, and the children thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in all things pirate! They have been busy creating treasure maps of magical islands, building pirate ships, bravely walking the plank, designing their very own colourful underpants and making telescopes to spot the treasure.

In maths, we have been exploring β€œ What comes after?” Using both numbers and patterns. The children have been developing their counting and sequencing skills through a range of fun, hands on activities.
We are so proud of all the creativity, enthusiasm and brilliant learning the children have shown this week. Well done, little pirates!πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

We talked about what the animals looked like and how they felt, using words such as soft, fluffy, smooth and scaly. The children were very curious and enjoyed this exciting hands-on experience!
A big thank you to Siobhan from Pet Encounter for such a wonderful visit and for helping us learn about the animals. 🐾

We have been having lots of fun exploring the story Peace at Last!
The children have loved listening to the story and joining in with familiar parts, helping them to remember what happens next and build their confidence during story time. We have been talking about bedtime routines, why sleep is important, and learning about the difference between day and night.
As part of our learning, the children enjoyed creating moon and star pictures, taking part in listening games to identify sounds around us, and exploring a range of musical instruments to discover the different sounds they make. We also loved joining in with Sing and Sign sessions and using actions alongside songs and stories.
One of the highlights was our lovely Pyjama Day! The children looked fantastic in their pyjamas and enjoyed sharing stories, songs, and activities with their friends in a cosy and relaxed environment.
These experiences have supported the children's communication and language skills as they listened to stories, talked about sounds, and learned new words. They have also been developing their listening and attention skills, memory, confidence, creativity, and understanding of the world around them. Through music, stories, and sensory experiences, the children have been learning whilst having lots of fun.
We are so proud of how engaged the children have been throughout this week 😁
