🐌💚 Super Helping Hands! 💚🐌

We’ve had some super helping hands in preschool today as the children helped us take care of our nursery pet, Bob the snail! 🐌

We talked about all the different things Bob needs to stay happy and healthy and how we can care for him. The children helped to clean Bob’s tank, giving him fresh food and water. 🥬💧

The children were very interested in Bob and showed great care and gentleness when handling him. It was wonderful to see them developing their understanding of caring for living things and taking responsibility for our little pet. 💚

This activity links beautifully with our current Termly Cohort – Understanding the World, particularly the statement: “Comments and asks questions about aspects of their familiar world such as the place where they live or the natural world.” 🌍🌱

The children were curious, asked questions about Bob and explored what he needs to live and thrive. We loved seeing their natural curiosity and enthusiasm as they learned more about the world around them! 🌟🐌

📚✨ Little Sparks Baby Room – Exploring Stories Together! ✨📚

Our little ones have been enjoying exploring a variety of stories in the Baby Room! 💕 They have been busy turning the pages, pointing to pictures, looking closely at the illustrations and showing lots of curiosity about what they can see. 👶📖

These simple moments are so valuable for their development. Sharing books helps to build early communication and language skills, encourages attention and listening, supports hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they handle the pages, and helps babies begin to develop a love of books and stories. 🌱💛

We love watching our little readers explore at their own pace, discovering something new on every page! 🥰📚

🍎 🍐 🍌 Our Tweenies have really enjoyed exploring our fruit-decorating tuff tray! They used their pincer grips to carefully pick up the coloured pompoms and match them to the correct fruit, helping to develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. We looked at real-life pictures of different fruits, including oranges, bananas, pears and apples, and talked about their different colours, shapes and characteristics. The children enjoyed identifying the fruits and matching the pompoms to the corresponding colours while developing their understanding of fruits through hands-on, playful learning 🍎 🍌 🍐

🌈 A Busy Week in Preschool! 🧸✨

This week in Preschool, we have been warmly welcoming our new children who have moved up from the Toddler Room. 💛

As the children settle into their new environment and routines, we have been focusing on supporting them to develop their concentration and ability to engage in activities for short periods of time.

We have introduced a range of fun, hands-on activities, including colour-sorting bears, jigsaws and matching games. 🐻🧩 These activities have encouraged the children to practise focusing, taking turns, sharing ideas and communicating with their friends. 💬🤝

It has been lovely to see the children exploring their new surroundings, building confidence and beginning to form new friendships. 🌟

We are so proud of how well everyone is settling into Preschool and look forward to seeing them continue to grow, learn and flourish! 🌱💕
