For the last 5 months our Young Tree Champions have been working with Mrs Hall our Forest School Lead on a project alongside The Tree Council to encourage others to connect with nature and to understand the importance of trees. They decide to develop a new wildlife mini meadow and orchard while caring for the tree saplings planted last March in 2022. We now have 146 trees with 9 different species of trees and have gained a Beacon Award Status! We are all excited to see the meadow bloom and observe the new flora and fauna it brings. A fabulous achievement, congratulations and we’ll do e all!

Summer Fayre !!! What a day. Our first Fayre in four years !! It was a glorious day and the only things shining brighter than the sun were the smiles on everyone's faces. Absolutely made all the effort worthwhile. So I guess you'd like to know what we raised ?! On the day our takings were an incredible £7009.59 !!! Which, after expenses were taken off, became an amazing £5534.35
I would firstly like to thank everyone that helped out during the run-up to the Fayre. PTA members, parents & staff. People worked incredibly hard and I'm astounded we pulled it off with so few helpers - well I'm not really because everyone went above and beyond !! We even had help from ex-PTA members, parents & pupils, which was so very much appreciated. And of course without parents donating fabulous items, baking delicious cakes, and coming along on the day to support our events, where would we be ?!
All monies raised are spent on activities, items & projects that enhance & enrich OUR children's lives during their time spent at Holland Park. This is why we do it. I'll post more details after the end of term, so that you can see exactly where the money raised goes. We're planning lots more events so do come along & even consider getting involved - we don't bite !
A huge thank you to all those external people & companies that donated their time, money or items for our benefit. From poor Buddy, on that sweltering day Princes Theatre, Frinton Road Butchers Ltd. for the delicious barbeque fare, Coaches & children from Tendring Borough Youth Fc for their skills & displays, St John's Ambulance, Fruits of The Forrest Epping for their unbelievable strawberries & fresh fruit, Peppermint Dance & AMA Dance Academy for their wonderful displays - again in such heat ! And to our very own Compere Chris, the man with the mike !
We would like to thank our wonderful Sponsors
Priory Estates and Eden Hair Suite for providing Colchester Zoo
and Clacton Pier annual passes as prizes for our Summer Fayre Raffle.

And finally Holland Park PTA would also like to thank the following businesses for kindly donating prizes or other items towards our Summer Fayre. Please look them up & consider buying locally & supporting local businesses:

This week our KS2 School Council Reps and MSC Ambassadors had the pleasure of visiting beautiful Braxted Park for the annual ‘United in Diversity’ event.
We were lucky enough to hear from some inspirational children who spoke of overcoming their daily challenges, the importance of inclusion, understanding different abilities not ‘disabilities’.
Activities included dog agility, t-shirt decorating, inclusion volleyball and football, instrument taster sessions and a lovely picnic in the fabulous grounds.
The children were a pleasure to take out and did Holland Park proud.
