🚨 Day of Action on Illegal E-Scooters & Unsafe E-Bikes 🚨

Essex Police is supporting a national day of action on Saturday 6 June to tackle the illegal use of e-scooters and unsafe e-bikes.
Led by our Roads Policing Unit and local neighbourhood policing teams, the focus will be on education, enforcement and keeping our communities safe.

🔎 What you need to know:
• Privately-owned e-scooters are illegal on public roads, pavements and cycle paths
• They can only be used on private land with permission
• Illegal e-scooters can and will be seized
• Only government-approved rental e-scooters are allowed in certain areas

👮 On the day, officers will:
• Target illegal riders
• Seize unsafe vehicles
• Speak to riders about the law and risks
• Raise awareness around anti-social behaviour

⚠️ Unintentional law-breaking is not an excuse
Before you buy or ride, make sure you understand the rules.
