FUNDED CHILDCARE FOR 2 YEAR OLDS

We still have a few spaces left for the afternoons in September.

Find out of your child could enjoy 15hrs a week of childcare, play and learning after the school holiday.

Children may be eligible if parents/carers:

meet the eligibility criteria used for free school meals,

receive Working Tax Credits and have annual gross earnings of no more than £16,190.

have a current education, health and care plan for their child,

receive Disability Living Allowance

Or if the child is looked after by the local authority.

Or the child has left care through special guardianship or an adoption or residence order.

Working parents may also be eligible for 15hrs for their 2 year old or shared care for 30hrs with a childminder as we only have availability in the afternoons until further notice.

If you are a working parent and have a child who is 2 before the start of the Autumn term (Sept 25) you may be eligible for 30hrs funding.

Please read below for info about 30hr funding generally.

Please note WHA nursery only has provision for 2 year old (term after they are 2) not for 9mths-2yrs.

Final phase of childcare expansion:
get 30 hours childcare – apply now

From this September, 15 hours childcare for working families with children under 3 will expand to 30 hours, meaning eligible working families can now apply for 30 hours of childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.

This expansion is designed to support your child’s early education and help you better balance work and family life. It’s the final phase of the childcare expansion, which could save families up to £7,500 per year.

Apply for your childcare code by 31 August to start using the support from September

What you need to do:

Check if you’re eligible: Working parents in England may be entitled to up to 30 hours childcare per week for children aged 9 months to school age, during term time (38 weeks per year).

Apply online via GOV.UK: If you're eligible, apply now for your childcare code – you’ll need this to access your hours.

Apply by 31 August: To start using your hours from 1 September, make sure you apply before the deadline.

Speak to your childcare provider: Check that they offer the hours and confirm their arrangements.

Keep your code up to date: You’ll need to reconfirm your details every 3 months via your GOV.UK account. You’ll get a reminder when it’s time.

Already using 15 hours childcare for working families?

You don’t need to reapply for a new code.

Simply continue to reconfirm your details every 3 months on your GOV.UK account and your existing code will update automatically to enable you to take up 30 hours from September.

Good morning,

Some parents have commented that they were unsure whether the nursery was remaining open. We would like to reassure you that it definitely is :-) If you would like your younger child to attend next Sept 25 please come and see us so we can create a waiting list now!

We have had some excellent feedback on our parent/carer questionnaires- thank you so much for your generous comments. It is really appreciated by nursery staff to know how well your children have progressed and ways to improve our setting and service even more :-)

Good morning,

We are delighted to confirm that the nursery is remaining open. Any continuing speculation is unfounded and we look forward to seeing all of our children returning.

The feedback from questionnaires, as usual, has been overwhelmingly positive and we are very grateful to have such supportive parents.
