So lovely. Thankyou to miss Dodds for teaching Taylor in reception. Although it was a shorter year than normal he really did enjoy every minute .xx
Anyone got the dinner menu ??
Such a brilliant idea . Please donate and come!
Is it school photo day for the reception classes ?

TerraCycle update - thank you to all those parents and staff members who continue to drop off accepted waste into the bin located at the gates. I've finally caught up with the Easter backlog. Pleased to say that we only had a small black bag of waste that I can't send off to TerraCycle as it's not yet sponsored. Just a reminder that sweet wrappers/choc bar wrappers/foil/non stretchy packaging from salad and fruit packs/plastic trays and tubs are all sadly not sponsored yet so please put these into your black bag waste. I've popped some pictures to give you a visual of what I cannot recycle. Many thanks and have a great bank holiday. # # #
Hi all, just a reminder about accepted waste that you can put in the TerraCycle bin outside the school gates. Every wrapper or item earns at least 1p for the school so it really is appreciated. Thank you. # # #

PAPER COPIES of the home learning packs ARE NOW IN THE OFFICE FOR YOU TO COLLECT. The office hours are 8am-3pm. Many thanks. Have a fun and safe weekend 😊

This was written by a teacher and very good friend of mine who has allowed me to share it with you. We may not all be teachers but we all have the ability to help children learn 😊

I don't normally do this, but I just want to give a positive message to everyone who has just started home schooling again..from me, a teacher. Firstly, you are doing an amazing job! If you managed to get one/two/three lessons done, amazing! If you didn't get any and just gave up, snuggled on the sofa or made cakes with them..amazing! Our children are being thrown into the unknown and asked to transition from their usual routine onto a new and uncharted path, again. And it is our job as parents to give them the reassurance and comfort, that we can and will get through this..again.

I have read and watched comments from parents on social media and the TV today and I have heard the phrase "I am not a teacher, I don't know how to do this!". I will admit to...only you, so please don't share it about, but I don't really know how to teach my children either! There, I have said it 😯 They don't see me as a teacher and when they do I have been told 'You are a rubbish teacher!'. I know..heartbroken..but to be fair, they are possibly right! I am their mum, their comfort and I am asking them to do things that they see as someone else's role.

I know I have trained and have experience, but really, as teachers we don't know your children as well as you do. But what I can say from my experience is that children will learn..literally..everywhere! And all the times you cook, tidy, laugh, hug, sing, read and just be together..they are learning. I think we hear 'they will be behind' and yes, there are things that they will miss. But that's ok, because we are going through uncharted waters (again!) and perhaps all the things they will miss out on can be filled with other things instead. Perhaps after this, we will have children who will grow into adults who will value family, life, community and hope.

Sorry for the long post but please believe me that you are all doing an AMAZING job and sometimes I think we all need to hear that.

We are back in lockdown and sadly that means that the Nursery, along with the rest of the school, is now closed.

If you are a critical/key worker and need your child to attend school while you work please contact the school office ASAP.

We will be in contact with parents via Tapestry throughout the lockdown and please contact us through Tapestry if you need any help or support with learning at home.

Please keep adding your photos, videos and comments of what your children have been doing at home. We love to see their learning and progress at home too.

Please keep safe and take care

Morning everyone. Please be advised that the school has been asked to remain closed on TUESDAY 5th JANUARY. This day will be an additional virtual learning day.

The school will be open for children whose parents are critical workers. If you fall into this category please email your details to the school at [email protected] as soon as possible.

We will keep you up to date with further developments as soon as we are hear more from Essex County Council.

Many thanks

Please like and share to spread the word ☺️

Some lovely ideas to keep you all busy over the holiday...πŸ˜ŠπŸ‚πŸ

***Autumn Family Explorer Challenge***

Our Autumn Family Explorer Challenge is here!!
We will be posting some handy worksheets over the weekend to help you complete our Family Explorer Challenge.

Don't forget to post your pictures or PM us, we love seeing them!

Happy half term everyone! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

Please keep safe and well over the holiday πŸ™‚

While you are off school can we ask you to keep doing the the following with your children:

-remind them to pull up their sleeves before washing their hands πŸ‘

-encourage them to dress themselves. After the holiday, in PE lessons, we will be removing socks and shoes and putting them back on afterwards. It is a skill but it only comes with practise 😌

-encourage them to put their own coat on and have a go at doing it up. Practise makes perfect! πŸ‘πŸ»

-keep reading to them and singing songs and rhymes together. It all helps with language development πŸ˜„

-count everything and anything and encourage them to name shapes and colours when seen 🧐

A quick reminder that the school is now having a non pupil day on Monday 2nd November so we look forward to seeing the children back on Tuesday 3rd November.

Wishing you all happy and safe holidays πŸŽƒ

πŸŽƒDon’t forget to dress up tomorrow!! πŸ‘»

Happy Sunday everyone!

Last week of our story Dear Zoo this week sadly 😌 We hope you have enjoyed hearing about this book and even reading it at home!

We are off to the woods tomorrow. Please bring wellies in a bag that will go on your child’s peg. It is best that the children have their shoes at nursery as well as our boots are very muddy and grubby when we return πŸ₯Ύ πŸ™‚

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow 😊

Don’t forgot to bring your wellies, it will be a squishy walk to the woods tomorrow! β˜”οΈ

See you there! πŸ˜„

What a shocker of a weekend weather wise! β˜”οΈ

Hoping that you are managing to make the most of it anyway and don’t forget to post photographs and comments on Tapestry so we can see how your child/ren are keeping busy πŸ™‚

This week we will continue with our Dear Zoo theme. We will be learning to retell the story. This is great introduction to story telling 😊

At the moment we are not sure if we’ll make it to the woods tomorrow (we are waiting on a delivery of new puddle suits) but please feel free to send your child/ren into Nursery in their wellies on wet days🌧

See you tomorrow!

Hi everyone!

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and didn’t get blown away! πŸ’¨

This week we are starting our first Talk 4 Writing book this year. This is where we focus on a book over several weeks so that we can retell it, act it out, sequence events and answer all sorts of questions about it. We really get to know it inside and out! Looking forward to surprising the children with it tomorrow 🀩

We hope to have our first proper visit to the woods tomorrow. We go in almost all weathers, high wind is the only weather to stop us 😊

Please keep practicing shoe and sock removal and putting on at home as this took us a long time in PE last week! πŸ‘πŸ»

Please share our post with other parents who may not get to see it.

Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow πŸ‘

Happy weekend everyone! Hope it is going well for you all 😊

The children are really settling now and getting to know one another through play which is great πŸ‘πŸ»

🌳This week we hope to take a walk to the woods on Monday to pick blackberries before tasting them at snack time on Tuesday.

We are hoping we can use the hall for our first PE lesson on Tuesday too. πŸ•ΊπŸ»πŸ’ƒ

Please ensure long hair is tied up and earrings are removed before Nursery on Tuesdays. πŸ‘‚

🧦To help your child prepare for PE please encourage them to put on and remove their own socks and shoes at home. This will make the beginning and end of PE much smoother for the children. πŸ‘Ÿ

See you from 8.20am tomorrow!

*please share our posts so that other parents see it too 😊

The back bone of the school. A special thank you to all TAs at Oakwood today. Past and present ☺️
