We're ready to restart Academic Support for the new school year and would like to invite you to re-register.

You can re-register online or by coming to one of our registration events on the week commencing Monday 6th September.

Our centre will be open to families between 3:30pm and 5:50pm, Monday - Thursday, to come along and see the centre, chat with the team and find out about our plans for next year.

Our classroom is now back to group tables and while we will be keeping some of our safety measures, things will look a lot more like they did before!

We know that your circumstances may have changed, so we will be having a chat with all of our families at registration to make all your details are still up to date. We will have to run through some questions, like we did when you first signed up, to do with our eligibility criteria.

A reminder of our session days and times:

Secondary:
Monday and/or Thursday
4pm - 5:30pm
Secondary students will be able to attend both sessions if they wish. Primary:
Tuesday or Wednesday
3:30pm - 5pm
Primary students will be able to attend weekly.

Academic Support sessions begin on the week commencing Monday 13th September for all groups.

We hope to see you at the centre very soon!

Nathan 's Clacton Pier to Walton Pier Walk!! 24/05/2021

Edit: Nathan has now completed the walk and has raised £120! Well done Nathan!

One of our Secondary Academic Supports is hoping to fundraise £100 for IntoUniversity by completing a Clacton to Walton pier walk!

Nathan Hill has been given a place on this years 'The Outward Bound Trust UK' adventure, where students are given the opportunity to get out of their comfort zone and the results are often transformative!

If you would like to keep track of Nathan's progress you can visit his justgiving page here:

This week we have been lucky enough to work with Year 5 students at Alton Park Junior School through virtual workshops. 🖥

We have asked the question "What is a University?" to find out more about university as a possible option in the future. 🎓

We have also explored the topic of Diversity and Inclusion in a FOCUS Workshop, discussing gender stereotypes and creating poems and posters to teach others about stereotyping. 📢

We have been so impressed by how insightful and engaged the students have been! 🙋

This term at Primary Academic Support we are studying History of Art! 🎨

In our first session, we learnt about all of the careers related to History of Art and what people in those careers do. 🧑‍🎨

We used our Oracy roles to discuss what a Curator does, and what we would include in our own Art Galleries. 🗣

Ideas ranged from green ✅, to gaming 🎮, and from space 🪐 to sport ⚽️ !

We still have spaces at our sessions for students to attend in-person fortnightly on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. 📋

Students over the age of 7, from Year 2-6 can attend. 🙋

If you'd like to find out more, send us a message using the button below! ⬇️
