πŸ“’ Class 3's London Adventure Awaits! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Class 3 are really looking forward to our trip to London tomorrow! We have an exciting day ahead and can't wait to visit the Houses of Parliament and learn more about how our democracy works.

⏰ A reminder that children need to be at school and ready to leave by 8:00am sharp.

Here are a couple of photos from last week when Roz Savage, our local MP, visited the school. She spoke to the children about her role as an MP, the work she does in Parliament, and some of the other incredible achievements from her inspiring career. The children asked some fantastic questions and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from her.

We are very much looking forward to seeing Roz again tomorrow when we visit Parliament!

Class 3 enjoyed a special visit from Roz Savage MP on Friday as they prepare for their trip to the Houses of Parliament next week.

Roz spoke about her passion for protecting the environment and raising awareness of climate change, helping the children gain a deeper understanding of these important issues. The visit sparked lots of interest and discussion, and the children are now even more excited for their upcoming trip.

Thank you, Roz, for taking the time to visit us. We look forward to seeing you again in Parliament next week! πŸŒπŸ›οΈβœ¨

🌟🎨 Class 1 have been inspired by the amazing artist Charlie French this week!

We explored his vibrant artwork, looking closely at the colours, shapes and mark-making techniques he uses. The children were fascinated by the range of tools he paints with, from rollers and sponges to different types of brushes.

We also learned about Charlie's Down syndrome and celebrated how his unique perspective helps him create artwork that is bold, joyful and full of character. The children loved discovering that our differences can be our greatest strengths.

A fantastic week of creativity and learning! πŸ’™πŸ–ŒοΈ

Class 3 were busy learning about Parliament and Government today and we had a visit from a director of a strategy and communications agency to talk about what Parliament is, how it is different from Government and how laws are made how and debates take place. Children then watched some of Prime Ministers Question Time from the House of Commons, noticing the ceremonial mace, the historical layout of the debating floor (no debates settled with swords today) and the language used by MPs when referring to each other. Children also took a 3D tour of the Houses of Parliament.

Today we welcomed back all of our pupils alongside 10 new Reception children and several other new starters across the school.

It was a joy to see so many happy faces arriving this morning, and we were thrilled to welcome a record number of children through our gates. Our classrooms looked amazing and were ready for a year full of learning, friendship and success.

Here's to a fantastic year ahead! 🌟
