Sports Week 2026 – Friday’s Whole School Sports Morning!
We finished our fantastic World Cup-themed Sports Week with our whole school Sports Morning on Friday!
Across the school, we set up 20 different sporting stations where children worked together in their house teams to earn valuable points. The morning was all about teamwork, determination and having a go, with children competing in a wide range of activities.
Our inclusive stations gave everyone the opportunity to take part and included New Age Kurling, Boccia, Javelin, Cricket, Table Tennis, Memory Relay, Golf, Long Jump and many more exciting challenges.
Despite the warm weather, the children were fantastic throughout the morning, showing brilliant effort, encouragement and sportsmanship as they supported their house teams. The points from Friday will now be added to the scores from Monday’s Sports Day races to decide our overall House Champions for this year.
The big question is… will Yellow House (Summer) retain their title and win again? Or will another house claim the trophy this year? 🏆 A huge well done to all of our children for making Sports Week such a memorable celebration of sport! ⚽🌎

Sports Week 2026 – Bringing the World Cup into the Classroom!
As part of our World Cup-themed Sports Week, the learning didn't stop on the sports field! Throughout the week and especially on Thursday, classrooms across the school were buzzing with exciting World Cup activities.
Children explored countries from around the world, researching their geography, cultures and traditions, while others delved into the fascinating history of the FIFA World Cup, discovering memorable moments, legendary players and past tournaments.
Some classes also investigated this year's host nations and even had the opportunity to sample traditional foods, giving them a real taste of the different cultures involved in the tournament.
It has been wonderful to see the children combining their love of sport with curiosity, creativity and a passion for learning. What a fantastic way to celebrate a truly global event!

Sports Week 2026 – Climbing Wall & Prostars Workshops!
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the excitement continued as every child took part in two fantastic activities as part of our World Cup-themed Sports Week.
The mobile climbing wall proved to be a huge hit, with children challenging themselves to reach new heights, demonstrating courage, resilience and determination as they climbed.
Alongside this, our friends from ProStars delivered an action-packed football workshop. Children tested the power of their shots using a speed gun, discovering how fast they could strike a football in mph! They also developed their football skills through a variety of fun challenges and had great fun aiming for targets on the football dart board.
It was fantastic to see every child getting involved, encouraging one another and embracing new challenges. A huge thank you to ProStars and The Mobile Climbing Wall for delivering such engaging workshops and helping to make our World Cup-themed Sports Week one to remember!

Sports Week 2026 – Sports Day!

Last week, we kicked off our annual Sports Week, which this year was inspired by The World Cup! Throughout the week, the children celebrated the world's biggest sporting event by taking part in a range of exciting activities and learning experiences, all linked to football and international sport.

We began the week with our exciting Sports Day races, where every child competed for valuable points for their house teams, all hoping to be crowned this year's champions.

Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of traditional events, including the egg and spoon race, over and under relay, beanbag throw and the ever-popular sprint. It was wonderful to see such determination, teamwork and encouragement on display from everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all of the parents and families who came along to support the children and joined us for our picnic on the field.

Well done to all of our children for their brilliant effort, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day!

Our KS2 Multi Sports Team had a fantastic day at Newent as part of our Sports Week, competing in a range of exciting activities including vortex throw, cricket against Year 7 students, agility challenges and football skills.
The children demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event, earning enough points to be crowned Forest of Dean Multi Sports Champions! They also came agonisingly close to winning the Teamwork Award, finishing just two points short.
A huge well done to everyone involved on an outstanding achievement—you represented St White's with pride and should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!
