Please put 5th July in your diary now so you can come and be part of it!

We are just over half way through the History Competition 2024! Who is preparing an entry?

Here is the weekly update for this week!

We are currently looking for people to come and join our fantastic team of staff at St White's!
If you are interested in being part of our team as a Midday Supervisor; Casual Minibus Driver or a Relief Cleaner. Please get in touch. There is more information, including an application form, on our website:

Year 5 and 6 represented St White's at the Westbury on Severn cricket tournament today. The team finished second in the group after displaying excellent sportsmanship and being the first to shake hands with everyone. Well done for representing the school so brilliantly and showing the passion to support each other.

We had two very lucky pupils today who were invited to the opening of the new hospital with Mrs Tilling. They met Princess Anne and saw the mural which included art work they and their friends had designed. The flowers came from the school allotment!

This Volunteers' Week we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who gives up their time to support us at St White's. We really couldn't do without the people who support trips, are part of the governors, read with the children, cook with the children, manage the allotment, run the PTFA and so much more. Thank you very much!

Year 5 and 6 competed in the Gloucestershire Panathalon after finishing 1st in the previous round. The team worked together to score lots of points and achieved a 5th place finish. Well done to the team for being excellent sports, committed and showing great passion. You are all fully deserving of your medals. Well done.

Today, our year 5 and 6 dodgeball team took part in the South West Regional Finals of the British Dodgeball School Championship 2024. We qualified for this event by finishing 1st place as overall champions of Gloucestershire.
After finishing in 5th place in the whole of the South West, we have now qualified for...THE BRITISH DODGEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS NATIONAL FINAL! For the first time in St White's history, we will be one of the 5 schools representing the South West at this amazing event in Nottingham. The team were brilliant and worked collectively to achieve this. They even proved they were Always Learning by noticing tactics from other teams they played. We are very proud of them.
Thank you to all the parents that support us by transporting the pupils and cheering them on as we couldn't have attended this event without you. Roll on the nationals!

Please ask your children about all of the exciting visitors they met this morning!

Photography Club have worked really hard on an exhibition of the photos from their club last term. They enjoyed sharing them with their friends and parents.

And another reply! Well done boys for writing such persuasive letters. Well done Noah for going above and beyond and writing another letter at home. It must have been brilliant to receive two replies! Great writing.

Mrs Clayton and Miss Ewles are hosting a phonics meeting for parents tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 9am aimed at year 1 parents. Please do come along after you have dropped your child off.

LKS2 have been writing adventure stories and publishing them. Swift class enjoyed sharing their stories with Kingfisher class. They are very proud of what they have written.
Jay class enjoyed sharing their stories with Nightingale Class after they created beautiful books.

Another reply from a letter to a sporting hero! This Liverpool fan is very happy with the response.

It has been great to have computing, photography, golf and dance clubs running this term! There are lots of exciting things on offer next term too. Please contact the office to book on to them.

Swift Class had an exciting visit when they saw the beaver release at Perry Hay last week. Forestry England say that it is easier to spot signs of beaver activity than see the animals themselves. Look for stripped trees, felled branches and dams.
I wonder who will spot them when they go walking?
Thank you very much Leoni from Forest of Dean - Forestry England for organising the opportunity for us.

Is there anyone else who is able to join us for this exciting morning?

At St White's, we are hosting our Aspirations Morning on Tuesday 4th June. This exciting event gives our children a chance to learn about all of the different jobs and careers they can aspire to.
We are looking for volunteers to join us and present their job to small groups of children across the morning.
As well as a good feeling from inspiring the next generation, we can also offer a biscuit at breaktime! If you are able to volunteer, please sign up on the form below and we will be in touch with you. If you have any questions, please contact Miss Cinderey or Miss Underwood (via the school office).

This was such an exciting opportunity for Swift Class. Thank you so much for inviting us.

I am looking forward to seeing you all later. If you would like to join, there is still space and we can support with looking after children!

It would be great to have as many people as possible join our group to give their thoughts on a new award. If you are interested, please contact Miss Cinderey via here or the office.
If childcare is an issue for attending, please get in touch and we will see what we can do to support with this.

What a great day year 5 had yesterday! First, they visited the National Gallery and saw paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and others. Then, they saw someone having a police es**rt on their way to St James' Park for lunch. After that, they walked up the Mall to Buckingham Palace before passing Westminster Abbey on the way to the Houses of Parliament. They all had a tour of the Houses of Parliament including going into the House of Commons and the House of Lords as well as meeting a Lord and asking him questions.

Another reply to the letters! Well done girls for getting a reply from Leeds United Footballer Crysencio Summerville!

Year 5 ETA 8.45pm at St White's/Buckshaft Rd.

Year 5 have just left the Houses of Parliament. We will update an expected ETA when we get out of London!

The school uniform shop is set up this afternoon. Do please come and take a look. Thank you to the PTFA for organising this.

There has been lots of history learning going on this week with year 3 and 4 going to Cirencester to the Corinium Museum and year 1 and 2 experiencing what life might have been like in a Victorian school. Unfortunately, year 5 and 6 can't convince us that we should take them on a residential to Greece to support their learning about the Ancient Greeks.

Last Friday, year 3 and 4 girls entered the first Prostars football tournament at Five Acres. After not conceding a goal in the group stages, the team made their way to the final! It was a very close game in the final with Tutshill the eventual winners. Well done girls and thank you to all the parents who helped transport the children. Great sportsmanship was on show and commented on by lots of other people - well done!

Welcome to St White’s Primary School official page. Here at St White's, our pupils learn that to succeed, they must not be afraid to fail.
