A mx of our students from Y7, 10 and 11 helped create colour palettes that signified the Forest of Dean to them.

One of their colours is Forest High Purple! 💜

Beautiful fused glass decorations from the Y7 and 8 afterschool club. It is their first time working with glass, from cutting sheet to working with different size frit and sparkly dichroic glass. They look beautiful on the school Christmas Tree.
They have learnt that the glass they see when they are making it changes under heat so some of the chemical reactions can create very different colours in the fired glass.

We are taking part in St. Stephen’s Christmas Tree Fesival. Students from all year groups have worked hard this week to create decorations for our Christmas Tree. Y7 have also given their thoughts on SGS Forest High since starting in September. Teamwork has shone through this week. Well done everyone!

TRY AN INSTRUMENT DAY
We know that lots of children would like to start playing a musical instrument but are not sure where to start. So Gloucestershire Music are running a FREE session for anyone to come and try out a variety of instruments.

Where: Sir Thomas Rich’s School – main hall (go through car park gate 1)
When: Saturday 7th October, 10.00 – 12.00
Cost: Free

The instruments on offer to try will be:
Violin
Cello
Flute
Clarinet
Alto saxophone
Trumpet
Cornet
Tenor horn
Euphonium
Percussion
