Proud to be named as part of the Handleys Stitch Interiors team!

Today we are celebrating the team that brings you Handleys Stitch in its many guises. Mia, RAF veteran of 30 years, is the chief shopkeeper, maker and buyer with Sarah and Jo to keep her in check and reign in her mad ideas. Jane has been assisting from the start in the background, relocating to Shropshire 18 months ago. She’s there to stop Mia from giving up and is also the yarn expert and teacher of all things yarn craft (more variety of workshops to come). There’s also Brendan who does the fitting and Richard who’s there for the big projects and problem solving
Nick and Freddie are the back room boys, from packed lunch delivery and DIY jobs from Nick and doggie cuddles and walk breaks from Freddie, they help keep Mia going and remind her why she started down this journey.

Would you like to be able to knit in the round, but don’t like the thought of managing unruly double-pointed needles? Magic Loop is the answer!

Using a single circular needle with a long cable, you can knit (almost) any circumference in the round. Think gloves, mittens, sock, sleeves. No need to change to double-pointed needles for the crown decreases of a hat. You can even knit 2-at-a-time if your cable is long enough, so no more ‘second sock/sleeve syndrome’!

Join me for a 2-hour workshop where I will teach you how to knit a small circumference tube using the magic loop technique on a long circular needle. There are currently 2 spaces remaining on this workshop, held at Handleys Stitch Interiors in Broseley, Shropshire, on Sat 28 Mar 2026 1:00 - 3:00 pm. You must be able to cast on, cast off, and have basic knitting skills to participate in this workshop.

You will take home a pattern for a pair of simple wrist warmers which are designed to let you practice the ‘magic loop’ technique.

Circular needles and yarn will be available for use during the workshop, but if you want to bring your own supplies you will need a 4mm circular needle (80cm or 100 cm in length) and DK yarn of your choice.

Needles and yarn will also be available for purchase at the workshop.
