My tutoring room is all ready to welcome children back for another term of fun and individualised lessons! I’ve only got a couple of spaces free after school during the week, but if any parents are home educating and would be interested in some extra tutoring for their child during the day, please get in touch via Messenger.

Until now I have tutored primary aged children after school hours and at the weekend. I am now available during the school day for children who are home educated/schooled. I am a very experienced primary school teacher and I can offer support in English and Maths to children either at their home (provided it is local) or in my house in Church Stretton. I have a full DBS and a recent safeguarding certificate.

For children who are already in school I currently have space on Thursdays from 3:30 until 5:30 and would love to fill these hours to help children gain confidence and understanding in English and Maths.

I can’t believe another year has passed and the Autumn term is already in full flow. I haven’t been active in posting any updates, but I’m still here and continue to tutor primary age children from my house in Church Stretton. I no longer offer online lessons but if you are local and looking for a little extra help for your child in English or/and Maths please do send me a message and we can find a mutual time to chat and explore a way forward. I currently have space on Monday evenings from four until five o’clock, and on Saturday afternoons. I look forward to hearing from you.

Another year has passed since I last posted. Where did the time go? The school year ends in a couple of weeks and two of my lovely students are moving up to secondary school. I therefore have spaces on Monday and Thursday evenings for primary tuition in Maths and English. My weekend spaces and other week day evenings are full. If you feel your child could benefit from some individual support, based on their particular needs, then please message me. 😃

As we come to the end of another school year, I have available sessions throughout August for children who might need some extra support before September. If your child could benefit from some extra help in Primary Maths and English, please get in touch. 😀

From September I have slots available on Tuesday and Thursday after school from 4:30. 45 minutes - £25. 60 minutes - £30. Online sessions work really well on Zoom or Skype or I can offer face to face sessions from my home here in Church Stretton. Please message me for further information or call me for a chat to discuss your child’s needs.

Tutoring is incredibly rewarding. I get to see the lightbulb moments and the smiles that go along with them. Working with children at their own pace and level makes for very happy outcomes. There’s time to review what we’ve already covered so it doesn’t get forgotten, and there’s time to work on new concepts from a starting point that matches the child’s understanding. I had a really fun first session this morning with a year 3 child who is not enjoying reading and writing at school. He has a great teacher, but home-learning during lockdown and a long period of being poorly, means he has missed a fair bit of the year one and two curriculum.

Working together with quality one-on-one time, I could see his confidence grow. We can now build on this and he can hopefully start to enjoy English lessons at school again.
