Alternative Firing Weekend Workshops in Devon, Uk

07/09/2026

What a weekend! 🔥✨

Four wonderful women friends came back for their fourth workshop, and it was such a joy to see them again — their beautiful pots, their laughter and the fun they bring.

A full weekend with over 100 pots fired, perfect weather, excellent results and a new technique added to the mix. And what a great group of pottery enthusiasts! 🤍

Alternative firing has endless possibilities. Everyone brings their own creative spirit, friendships are made, and there’s always support for those just beginning their pottery journey.

ONE SPACE LEFT on our last workshop of the year — 10–11 October. booking link in bio i

Bring your own pots, or we have pots available if you can’t make them yourself. A gorgeous Devon venue, homemade food and a whole weekend of barrel firing, saggar firing, horse hair, raku reduction glazes, copper wash and naked raku.

Come and see what the flames will do. 🔥

In a hidden Devon valley, late summer sun, fire, smoke, clay, great company, home cooking, surrounded and encouraged by hands-on and generous creativity, it was a thoroughly fulfilling two days. Raku is a very exciting, dramatic, and somewhat unpredictable process, but with very lovely finishes. Clearly addictive.. Took far too many pictures, obviously (but I did get to work on a couple of pots, too). Highly recommend the workshop, by the way - the final slide is probably only half what everyone made, and the group is still messaging each other with further work and ideas!

I had the best weekend. I smell like the towering inferno, I am exhausted, I learnt things I never wanted to. I need to sleep for a year. Same time next year… .patel.520
