St Laurence CE Primary School ‘We Live, love and Learn through Faith in Jesus’
‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ - Philippians 4:13 The school has strong links with St.

A very warm welcome to St Laurence’s Church of England Primary School. Our school is a wonderful community for our young people to grow and learn and we believe in providing the highest quality education for our children in a caring, positive atmosphere based upon Christian values. As a church school, we believe that the Christian faith underpins all that we do in school and permeates all aspects of school life. Laurence’s church and our Christian values are reflected throughout all we do within school and beyond. We provide a warm, happy and safe environment where children are guided to achieve their very best, knowing that they are safe, unique, special and valued. Staff and Governors work incredibly well together to offer children a wealth of stimulating learning opportunities, which will challenge them as individuals and enable them to develop as a whole, whilst having lots of fun! We have very high expectations of all our pupils and we encourage children, staff and parents to aspire to the same. We focus on the whole child, equipping them with skills for life and a passion for lifelong learning, through a wide and varied curriculum. We are passionate about teaching children how to learn better, how to become responsible citizens of the world and how to live harmoniously with others. The child’s education is very much a partnership between home, school, the church and the local community. Children are more likely to reach their full potential when home and school work closely together and we welcome your involvement in all aspects of the life of our school. Our children, their families and the community are at the heart of our school and we love to celebrate their success and achievements as a community. Your help and support plays a vital part in the education of your child and we are always happy to talk with you about your child’s achievements and progress. Visitors are always welcome to experience the friendly and warm atmosphere within our lovely school for yourselves and I would be delighted to show you around. Should you require any further information about our school please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 01257 262940 or email [email protected]

In RE Year 2 listened to a story about Mary Jones who saved her pocket money for six years then at the age of 15 walked 50 miles altogether to collect it and then walk back home. The man who sold it to her - Thomas Charles- was so inspired that in 1804 he set up the Bible Society to distribute bibles around the world.

One of our children has carried out a very thoughtful act of kindness and brought in a ‘Worry Worm’ made by his grandma for every child in the class to take home. What a lovely kind thing to do!
I’m your little worry worm, I’m here to make you smile, if you get scared or feel unsure, just hold me for a while.
