Good evening everyone from Bewerley Park. β˜€οΈ

Today has been a scorcher but the team here have worked hard to make sure we are all safe, protected from the sun and hydrated. They have really looked after us all.

Today, all groups went canoeing on the River Ure. We got onto the river at the White Rose Sailing Association facility and traveled south towards the Ripon Canal. Pictures to come when we are back as the photographs are all on the waterproof cameras! πŸ“Έ

With the warm weather continuing today, we introduced regular hydration and shade breaks during lunch and playtimes. Every 15 minutes, the whistle was blown and all children paused their activities to sit in the shade, cool down, and have a drink of water. We are proud of how well everyone followed these important sun safety measures to stay safe and comfortable throughout the day. β˜€οΈπŸ’§πŸŒ³

A freshly cut school field and sunshine can only mean one thing… rounders season is here! β˜€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic PE lesson playing rounders with a fun twist. Instead of using a traditional bat, the children kicked the ball before sprinting around the bases to score points for their team. The children showed great teamwork, determination, and enthusiasm, making the most of the beautiful weather while developing their coordination and sporting skills. Well done, Year 2! πŸ‘βš½οΈπŸŒŸ

Update from the y6 residential…

Today, all groups went to Brimham Rocks. For those who don't know the area, this is a grit stone park operated by the National Trust. It is full of boulders leaning against one another. This gives the children the chance to play huge games of the floor is lava, working their balance and confidence and weasel their way through the holes between the rocks.

🌞🧡 What better way to stay cool on a warm afternoon than by practising our sewing skills in class!

This half term, Year 3 are exploring textiles, dyes and sewing. To kick-start the topic, the children had a go at embroidering their own initials onto a bookmark. They showed fantastic concentration and creativity, producing some wonderful results. Many children even went on to add extra details, including decorative borders and the occasional smiley face! πŸ™‚
