🌊✨ Exciting News! ✨🌊

Today, we began work on our pond project that has become incredibly special to us. A few months ago we started our little pond project, asking parents and families for any small donations to help fund it. We were overwhelmed by all the generosity, and blown away when one of our parents offered to donate all the materials needed for the build. 🥲 and so “project pond” began. Then a few weeks ago, we learnt that one of our families had very sadly lost a little boy of 6 months. Baby Finley, sibling to our own Reuben and his big sister Skyla-Rae. So, I got thinking 🤔…..
I thought it would be a really lovely idea to give our pond a meaningful name. And so, we are naming it in memory of baby Finley. Finley put up a big fight in his very short time on this earth, and made a big impact on everyone.
This pond will serve as a peaceful retreat for all the children, providing a space for calm and reflection. We are also creating a wishing well called “Finley’s Wishes,” where everyone can share their hopes and memories.
Understandably, the family have been through so much, but I hope this helps bring a little comfort, and know that baby Finley will always have a place here at nursery 🤍

We are grateful for the support from our nursery community, and our amazing caretakers, Chris and Phil, in bringing this beautiful tribute to life. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this meaningful journey! 💙🌼

Parents..stop measuring your worth as a parent by how many places you take your children this summer. ❤️

✨️Social media can make it feel like every day should be a theme park, beach trip or expensive day out.

But for many SEN families, the biggest win isn't making memories in crowded places...

It's having a peaceful day at home.

It's avoiding the sensory overload, the anxiety, the exhaustion and the meltdowns.

Sometimes, the safest place for your child is their own home, surrounded by the people, routines and familiar things that help them feel secure.

And that's okay.

Your child won't remember how many attractions you visited. They'll remember how safe they felt, how understood they were, and how loved they were.

A calm child is never a missed opportunity.

So if staying home is what your child needs this summer, don't let anyone make you feel guilty.💙

Thanks Colin, the children had the best time! Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt sometime. A fabulous day! And so glad the magic book 📕 arrived 🤣

I once turned up to a nursery magic show without any magic.

Yep.

Actual professional magician.

Zero magic.

Last year at Anderton Day Nursery, I made a very rare mistake.

I left my magic box at home in Darwen.

Which is slightly inconvenient when your entire job depends on it. 😅

I had to race home, grab it, and race back.

The nursery had to move their day around to fit me in.

Honestly, they’d have been well within their rights to never book me again.

But they did.

This morning, they invited me back.

And not just for a quick show.

For 90 minutes of magic, games and disco.

That meant a lot.

There’s a big misconception that preschool children can only focus for 30–45 minutes.

This morning completely blew that idea apart.

These children laughed.

They shouted.

They screamed.

They jumped.

They danced.

They gasped.

They joined in with everything.

And they stayed with me for the full 90 minutes.

Not because preschoolers have short attention spans.

But because boring things have short attention spans.

When the energy is right, the pace is right, and the children feel part of the show, they are absolutely incredible.

A huge thank you to everyone at Anderton Day Nursery for seeing past one honest mistake and inviting me back.

And yes…

This year, my magic box was the very first thing I put in the car. 😄

🌧️✨ Today was an adventure to remember! Despite the rain pouring down, our little group of adventurous squirrels didn't let it dampen our spirits. Off to the playground we went!

The swings were an absolute hit, soaring high into the drizzly sky. 🎠💦 But it wasn't just the swings that brought the joy; the puddles became our splash zone, and laughter filled the air as we jumped and played in the rain.

Sometimes, a little rain makes for the best memories! Here’s to more fun adventures, no matter the weather! 🐿️❤️💦

🌟 Exciting News from Nursery 🌟

A few weeks ago, we reached out for donations to help build a pond, and we are thrilled to share the wonderful response from our nursery community! Thanks to generous contributions, including one very kind parent who donated materials, we are thrilled to announce that construction will soon begin.

This pond will be a beautiful addition to our preschool, hopefully look something like the above picture! Our little ones are already dreaming big—some have even suggested it could be a magical wishing pond! 🌈✨
