❗️ We are reaching out to the residents local to the nursery school. We have had a parcel that has gone missing, it is essential that we get our hands on this parcel as it is for an upcoming event. Unfortunately, we are unable to obtain another and so we would kindly ask if you can please check your gardens, sheds and recent deliveries. We would be extremely grateful for any assistance. ❗️

⭐Weekly-Roundup⭐
This week we released our first set of butterflies!
We have watched the butterflies come to use as tiny little caterpillars and grow bigger and bigger each week. We then watched as they formed their chrysalis and start their transformation before eventually re-emerging as beautiful butterflies. 🦋🐛🦋🐛🦋

There is a place for a parent governor on the governing body of Duke Street & Highfield Nursery School Federation. If you wish to put yourself forward for election, please contact the nursery office for the form. Governors have an important and influential role to play in the life of our school, and we hope you will be able to take part in this election by becoming a candidate and by casting your vote when the time comes.

As a federation, we had a wonderful evening in our forest area at Highfield Nursery, exploring and learning about the great outdoors! 💐🌞 🍀
From understanding the importance of being outside in all weathers - ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!’
To learning lots of wonderful activities, that we can’t wait to share with our children!
We also discussed ‘risky play’ and the benefits children gain from this form of play, including: problem solving, building confidence, higher order thinking, team work, building resilience and much much more!

⭐ Weekly Round-up ⭐
What a wonderful week we have had! Two of our children created a fantastic maze using miniature bricks and playdough, they told us that only way to get out was to find the exit!
The weather has really brightened up and it gives us more opportunities to have a lot of fun in our outdoors. Please ensure to put sun cream on your child before their session so that they are protected from the sun. ☀️💐🌈

Happy Earth Day for yesterday!
Let's show our children how we can help protect our planet!
Simple ways we can do this:
- Recycle, re-use, create less waste
- Turn off lights and electricals after use
- Notice the animals, plants, and insects and show them respect.
See the link below to watch a short video about how we can all help by taking simple actions. (Twinkle)
