Preschool 🛥
🚢🌊 One question has started an adventure today! 🤔💭✨
One of our Preschool children asked, “Can I put my cargo ship in the water tray? Will it sink or float? I think it will float!” 🚢💦
So, of course, we had to test the theory! 🧐🔍 Unfortunately, the cargo ship sank… 😱😂 Turns out it was made from Duplo bricks! 🧱🚢💦
This sparked a fantastic investigation into floating and sinking! 🌊⚖️ We made our own boats using a variety of different materials 🪵🍃🧽📦 and tested which ones would float, which would travel the furthest, and which would sink right to the bottom! 🛥️💨💦
Then we took our boats out to explore the stream at Astley Park 🏞️🌳🌿. We had so much fun watching them sail along the water 🌊⛵, comparing our different designs 🔍👀 and seeing whose boat would travel the furthest! 🏆🚤
There were lots of opportunities for child-led learning, curiosity, problem-solving, predicting, testing and exploring the world around us! 🧠💡🔬🌎
What a wonderful adventure we had! 🥰🌊🛥️🍃✨
