We will 100% be discussing this in our Q5 / Section B sessions this week.
Did you know that the exam boards will sometimes use current issues in society as a topic on the writing section of the exam. This year there was a question on AI. Could something like this be the focus for next summer?
Either way, discussing these topics with your children is the first step in learning to formulate a strong argument for the writing section of the GCSEs.
I always have my own opinions, but love listening to young people and getting their perceptions on things.
We are giving children their childhoods back.
Social media platforms will be blocked from offering services to under 16s.
We’re setting a new normal for future generations and empowering parents who just want to do their best for their kids.

I am really enjoying meeting some lovely new Year 10 students this week and preparing for this is keeping me really busy. ☺️
As a result of this, and just general life, I’ve not been very active on socials. I have just seen that some of the amazing parents have left me some unbelievable reviews. 😍
These are real reviews, from real people. No AI bots or fake accounts, but people who can help you feel confident in choosing me to support your child through their GCSEs.
If you’re watching and waiting with a view to booking with me then please have a read of these and reach out to me if you have any questions. I’m currently 2/3rds full already, but I do still have a couple of spaces remaining.

And so the goodbyes begin 😢. I find saying goodbye during these final sessions really hard. Working 1-2-1 and in small groups with students really does build strong relationships. I have had the privilege of working with some fantastic kids this year who have added so much joy to my weeks ✨ .
I am beyond proud of everything my wonderful students have achieved since I started working with them. Alongside their incredible school teachers, it’s been amazing to be part of their progress. One last push on Friday for GCSE Language Paper 2 and then they can finally put their feet up and enjoy summer! 🌞

I really am so proud of each and every young person I’ve been able to support this academic year.
Tomorrow is another opportunity to show off everything they have learnt. I’ll be eagerly awaiting updates from them all. ⭐

Hands up if you will be glad when Thursday is done 🙋♀️🤪🤣…
Although there will still be one English language paper left, it is such a good feeling to know that your children can take a breath over half term and that literature will be done and dusted ✅.
Exam period really does impact more than just the youngsters themselves: parents, teachers, tutors and extended family can all feel the pressure. We all just want them to reach their potential and come out of this time feeling proud of themselves.
So get something nice planned in for this coming weekend and know that everyone deserves a break. I know I will be ready for one…
But first, Paper One boosters tonight ☺️. An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers and A Christmas Carol (EDUCAS). A last blast of revision and a chance to settle any last minute nerves.

My top tip for revision this week is to remember the stage directions. The writer has included them for a reason and they are often teach us a lot about a character. They can also add to your understanding of structure throughout the play. Plus, they are often short and easier to remember. Win! 🏆
A little revision task your teens could be doing is choosing a character from the play they’ve been studying and writing down the first and last stage direction for that character. How have they changed? Have they learnt any lessons across the course of the play?
Excited for some additional boosted sessions on Monday where we can make sure everyone feels prepared and ready to walk into Tuesday’s exam full of confidence! ⭐

Getting ready for another set of booster sessions on Monday.
It is NEVER too late to start revising and getting ready for your next exam.

Good luck to all my wonderful students sitting Literature Paper One today 📚 ✍️ .
I am so proud of you all and can’t wait to hear about the paper in sessions this week.
A huge good luck to my lovely niece too who is starting her SATs today. As I keep telling her, ‘You’re doing you best and that is enough.’

Fantastic morning for the Chorley 2k fun run and 10k race. 🏃♀️
It was absolutely amazing to see, not just one, but two, of my amazing families cheering me on from the sidelines. It was soooo appreciated!
I am by no means a ‘natural’ or ‘the best runner’ but, just like most things in life, with a bit of grit and hard work you really can do most things you put your mind to.
Hopefully a bit of inspiration for those going into the GCSEs exams next Monday. Run your own race and always just do YOUR best!

Really enjoyed discussing revision this week with all my lovely students. They really are working so hard: at school, at home and with me.
‘Feeling positive’
‘Good’
‘I’m realising I can do this.’
These are just some of the comments I’ve heard this week.
This period is about working hard but avoiding burnout. Short, productive periods of work followed by rest and recharge time.
I am very close to being at full capacity already for the next academic year. If your child is currently in Year 10, and you’re considering getting in touch, please do it sooner rather than later.
