A fantastic full of energy Friday 🀩

Today we had plenty of performances in our stage area from singing and dancing, rock music shows and a Forest School wedding - many congratulations to the happy couple πŸ˜…πŸ’’

The children also enjoyed balsam bashing, den building, crafting, tool work, making clay nature bowls, painting logs (and themselves), hide and seek and tree climbing.

The group also helped with some camp jobs including pulling up all the over grown grass from around the tent area - great job everyone.

Thank you for a lovely end to the week, Laura x

What a wonderful Wednesday we had today β˜€οΈ

This morning the children all had different ideas about how they’d like to spend their day at Forest School. We had shows being performed, crafting toys to make their own games and plenty of tree climbing, balsam bashing and mud kitchen fun.

Thank you for a lovely day everyone, Laura x

Today’s Forest School adventure was all about fire lighting πŸ”₯ as well as the usual fun and games.

The group were tasked with starting their own fires and keeping it burning long enough to toast a marshmallow. Everyone managed to achieve this and I was super proud of their efforts 🀩

Thanks for a lovely day, Laura x

Today we made beautiful Elderflower cordial to have alongside our homemade banana muffins πŸ‘Œ

The children helped to identify, pick, wash and remove stalks before cutting the lemons and watching the syrup on the fire.

We shared the cordial and snacks together around the fire and enjoyed chatting about what we would like to do in future sessions ❀️

The children have been incredibly chilled out today with the majority of their time spent playing together in the hammock, dens and mud kitchen πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

A lovely end to a busy week 🌞

Tomorrow's snack is sorted! 🍌🧁

I had some leftover bananas so decided to spend some time this afternoon making mini banana muffins for the children's snack tomorrow πŸ˜‹

They will be perfect with a hot chocolate after a day of playing, exploring, building and creating in the woods 🌲πŸ”₯

🌊 More exciting fun on the water! πŸ›Ά

Today was a bit more challenging as the children developed their teamwork skills in Canadian canoes 🚣🏼

Some of the children were quite nervous at first, but they conquered their fears and gave it a go πŸ‘πŸΌ

We played games together, collected ducks, practised paddling as a group, and even managed to get all the canoes lined up!

To finish the session, everyone had the chance to jump in, swim, and play ball games in the water βš½πŸ’¦

It may have been a little chilly, but a hot shower followed by hot chocolate and a biscuit soon warmed everyone back up β˜•πŸͺ

A fantastic day full of teamwork, confidence-building, and plenty of fun!

How it started β›΅ ..... And how it ended πŸŒŠπŸ˜‚

We had an amazing day raft building together we worked as a team to gather the materials, make the raft- putting our knot tying skills to good use and then took to the water after lunch.

Much to everyone's amusement one of the rafts started to sink and some of the children ended up swimming πŸ˜… while the other team rescued toy ducks from around the pond πŸ¦†

Lots of fun had by all and an amazing day of teamwork and new experiences ❀️ the children have already been asking for the next activity!

Broke out the wetsuits yesterday (to make sure they still fit πŸ˜†) ahead of next week's special forest school fun!

We have booked a couple of instructors to help us run raft building and canoeing on the lake at our site. Experiences like these help strengthen friendships, boost children's confidence and sense of achievement, plus it's a whole lot of fun πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

It's great to be able to take advantage of the facilities on Tawd Vale Adventure Centre they really do have some great opportunities available.

Also if you fancy a bit of fun with the kids Rock and River do a paddle and pizza evening (pictured) which is a great way to try out paddle boarding or kayaking 🚣🏼

Watch this space for some likely hilarious pictures of rafts tomorrow, just hoping our knot tying skills are up to scratch πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ˜…
