Playdor Nursery School Chorley Nurturing kind humans, one playful step at a time. For 26 years we were located on Botany Brow in Chorley.

In January 2009 we relocated to where we are now on Chorley Hall Road. Playdor has always provided a warm, homely and small environment. Each child in our care is personally valued and each and every need is catered for. Playdor is run by practitioners that are all fully qualified and experienced who aim to provide high quality childcare in a happy, friendly, secure and stimulating environment in which each child can develop to their full potential. Playdor nursery is a truly wonderous place where children are safe, learn, thrive, and enjoy every day, whilst parents can be certain that they are doing the best for their child. We strive to offer the best care, comfort and fun for your child. Playdor Nursery School is a fun, loving, learning establishment where the practitioners are dedicated to ensuring that all the children are given the best possible opportunities to set solid foundations for the rest of their educational days. This morning in the garden was absolutely delightful as our babies enjoyed some free painting. We used a range of colourful paints and some recycled materials. Every child wore wonderful smiles and showed great enthusiasm as they created their own unique marks with paintbrushes. They also had a lot of fun exploring by using their hands and fingers. 🎨🖌️👶🏻

Let’s head to the circus 🤹‍♀️🎪🎡

Recently, some of the children visited the circus, and we used this as a fantastic opportunity to explore their experiences in more detail. We set up a range of activities for the children to delve into and share their circus adventures.
In the tuff tray, we created a mini circus featuring toy animals, a trapeze line, and an audience, encouraging the children to use their imagination and discuss their circus visits. At the creative table, we made our own clowns by painting our hands in vibrant colours, adding a red nose with a pom pom and a bow tie dotted with lots of dots. During this activity, the children talked about the colours they were using.
To extend our circus theme, we also watched a video showing the different acts and events that take place at the circus. 🤹‍♀️🎪🎠

Something a little different for our Playdor dads…

This is our lovely friend and all-round beautiful soul, Gav. 🤎

We’ve been friends for years, having first met when he photographed our wedding so beautifully.

For as long as we’ve known him, Gav has had a real talent for creating things with meaning, whether that’s beautiful photographs, special moments or products with a story and purpose behind them.

So when he told us about his next chapter, Dad First, it came as absolutely no surprise that there was something much deeper behind it than simply creating a beautiful product.

And the message behind this one? We absolutely love it.

Dad First.

The idea is simple, but pretty powerful.

Inside every Dad First hat is a daily reminder to be present and show up as the dad you want your children to remember.

And working in Early Years, that really struck a chord with us.

We spend our days talking about childhood, relationships, connection and all those seemingly tiny moments that actually become the big things children remember.

Cheryl and I may not quite qualify for the Dad First uniform 😂, but between our three Playdor nurseries, we know a LOT of incredible dads who do.

So we’ve bought four Dad First hats ourselves, and over the coming months we’re going to give all four away to dads within our Playdor Family.

And we’re starting now!

This morning, the babies had the best time in the mud kitchen. We put on our waterproofs and went outside! Thanks to the rain, there was plenty of water in the kitchen, so we had a great splash around.
