This week in toddlers, we have made a start on our pride activities as June is Pride Month!
So we have been talking about different types of families and that they love and support each other. We talked about how we use rainbows and colours to celebrate these families, so in toddlers we have made our own rainbows to celebrate! π³οΈβπ
In one of our activities, the toddlers used pipettes to add coloured water to cotton pads to make our rainbow π strengthening their pincer grip and fine motor skills.
The toddlers also made their own rainbow pictures using a paper plate in a semicircle shape, paint to add some colour and cotton pads as clouds! βοΈ
Well done toddlers! We canβt wait for lots more rainbows and love β€οΈπ§‘ππππ

Pre-school had a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning to visit Highgrove House to see our resident friends.
We took along some colouring sheets and we all played a great game of darts with everyone.
We all cheered each other on and some of the children were lucky enough to hit the bullseye π―π₯°

What a lot of excitement the children had on Wednesday showing our awareness for World Bee Day π
We had a range of fun filled activities going on in all the rooms and the children had the opportunity to explore a range of activities and learning about the importance of the bees and their jobs.
Take a look at some of our busy bees in action π

Over the last month it has been very exciting in Toddlers, we have been exploring change over time and we got some caterpillars. The children have watched the caterpillars get bigger before going into their cocoons.
This week we had a lovely surprise to find that butterflies had emerged from the cocoons. After a few days they released the butterflies, to which we had some curious children which wanted the butterflies to sit on their hands.
Throughout this time we have explored growth and change, using vocabulary to describe this. We have done a few activities around this topic, making caterpillars with paint and pom poms following patterns. We explore lots of sensory trays and read βThe Very Hungry Caterpillarβ book.ππ¦

In the Toddler room the children have been interested in seeing the shadows and lights through the windows, so we decided to explore our world with shadows.
We explored shadows that different objects make and used our pencils control to draw around them.
We also explored our own shadows to which the children were intrigued that they have one themselves. ππ

Itβs been a very special morning here in Pre-school as we have released our beautiful butterflies.
Itβs been a great experience the last few weeks watching the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
We gathered in the garden for the special moment and watched carefully as the butterflies got used to their new environment.
We joined them in fluttering around the garden before saying our goodbyes.
Good luck painted ladies π¦π

π§Today, Pre-school promoted their health and well-being by visiting the spa π§ββοΈ
Each of us took a turn to enjoy some pampering.
We started with a foot spa, followed by having our finger nails painted.
We then relaxed in the relaxation room, had a soothing hand massage, and spent some time talking about our emotions.
What a great way to relax and unwind. π₯°
