Ahhhh MoJo's has closed this week as I retire from Childminding. I would like to thank all parents of children I have looked after, past and present for letting me share in watching them grow and develop and trusting me to care for and teach them in their earliest years. Yes it can be hard work but I've shared a lot of really funny times with the children, loved the satisfaction I felt from each milestone I helped them reach and have some wonderful memories.
Thank you too to all my colleagues in Childminding who let us join in with them over the years (especially Trish who took us on lots of fun days out). Thanks again for these lovely gifts I received this week (the messages in the cards were all so lovely 😢).
Give all the little ones a hug from me # # #
😍😍😍

We've been watching our tiny caterpillars grow and grow this week and it shouldn't be long before we have butterflys. We've still had plenty of dry days to get out and about. Alfie and Dante are progressing fast and enjoying joining the older children in almost all activities. Immy, Jacob, Jude and Sam's physical skills are developing as we practise ball skills, climbing, balancing and jumping and it's been lovely having Elisa all day when voting has been on.
Our Sunflowers and other flower seeds have started to grow and next week we are going to try and grow mushrooms and some herbs too. It's also World Ocean Day for schools next week so I'm sure we will think of some fun things to do around this. Enjoy the weekend everyone x

A Taste of Summer this week it's been brilliant to spend most of our time outdoors. The older children planted flower seeds and learned what they need to have to help them grow. Lots of walks and outdoor activities including washing the outdoor toys (always a favourite), painting pebbles, making play doh dinosaurs and having games of tick and hide n seek. Long may it continue 🌞

First week back after a very restful break it was good to catch up with all the children and talk about what their latest interests are and see where the younger ones are up to, so with this in mind we had a fairly free and easy week, getting out every afternoon - enjoying Birkacre and local playparks and visiting the garden centre to choose some seeds to start learning about growing things very soon.
Alfie is walking now and all the children have enjoyed the sandpit at Birkacre. We have seen how one of the swans is sitting on eggs on the lake and watched as a pair of coots worked together to feed their babies and also seen hundreds of tadpoles at the edge of the lake. Lots of interesting conversations! We have compared the smell of bluebells to wild garlic and listened to birds singing in our garden and out and about so have been exploring all our senses. A long weekend now enjoy everybody # # #

MoJo's is closed now until 29th April while Mo recharges her batteries.😘 We've all enjoyed the weather over the last week or so getting out and about as much as possible and enjoying activities in the garden. Here are a few photos of what we have been doing and a big Happy Birthday to Alfie who is 1 tomorrow. # # #

It's been a bit of a mixed bag this last couple of weeks. With storms, wind, rain and fine days we've just made the best of it. We talked about why we have red nose day and made pictures, enjoyed junk modelling and got outside as much as possible - loving the full and fast waterfall over Birkacre.
The children are all joining in making a wall display of the changing weather, which has involved lots of talk and activities around clouds, snow and rain and of course our favourite - sunshine and they have noticed how things are starting to grow.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone x

World Book Day - Spiderman, A Pirate and Princess Elsa

We enjoyed the rest of the fine weather - eating lunch outside in February was a first! This past week or so we made the most of the rainy days by having a puddle jump walk (Immy's idea great fun), and getting ready for World Book Day. Lots of trying on of outfits, looking at and choosing our favourite books. (I couldn't quite manage a dinosaur outfit, sorry boys) and joining in the fun at the library on the actual day.
My intended visits to Coronation Park have been postponed until drier days so we can make the most of it and hopefully we won't have to wait too long x

Well I asked for an earlier Spring and it looks like my wish was granted. We've enjoyed the lovely weather getting outside in the garden as much as possible. We've had walks to playparks and met up with Tots to Teens at Birkacre play area, joined Little Stars to feed the ducks and explore in the woods and finally made our bird feeders. The children also made a picture to celebrate Valentines day and we talked about loving and being loved.
Over the next few weeks I would like to take the children to Coronation Park in Chorley to enjoy the new playpark there. I took my grandchildren yesterday and it was really good. We also have World Book Day and Mother's day coming up so lots of activities and crafts to do.
Enjoy this weather everybody and let's hope it continues x
