The children in Blainscough class have been discovering prehistoric cave art and learned how people communicated through drawings thousands of years ago. They enjoyed creating their own cave paintings and thinking about the stories they wanted to tell through their artwork. We have some wonderful artists in our class! 🎨🦣✨

Nursery News

Nursery have made a wonderful start to the new school year. The children have been enjoying a phonics hunt to help them learn their new sounds and have even created their own phonics watches to support their learning.

As part of their topic work, the children have been learning about the different parts of the body and exploring how our bodies work.

Miss Tiss has read the story Elmer to the children and they have chatted about how everyone is different, special and unique. They have been learning about the importance of kindness, acceptance and respecting others.

We are very proud of how well the children have settled into Nursery and look forward to sharing more of their learning throughout the year.

We were privileged today to attend a special mass at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Leyland. The mass was held to celebrate the visit of the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain. His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendia is here as the person chosen to represent Pope Leo. It was a wonderful occasion attended by children from the Catholic schools across Lancashire. The five children who went with Mr Owens represented St Oswald’s brilliantly.
