North of England Training

North of England Training Provider of Government-funded, Ofsted-regulated Apprenticeships and privately funded Qualifications

Established in 2008, North of England Training is a niche provider of Government-funded Apprenticeships, specialising in qualifications for all areas of the children and young people's workforce, from early years to children's residential care. We provide flexible Apprenticeships to suit the bespoke needs of each employer. Our training delivery is flexible to meet the demands of employers. We work with all types of providers including schools, nurseries and early years providers, residential care providers, Local Authorities, Foster Care agencies, amongst many others, to provide high quality workforce training to upskill staff and provide qualifications that leads to licence to practice within regulated job roles. Our approach to learning is flexible so if you prefer to be assessed through discussion instead of written assignments, we can facilitate this. We also offer flexible start dates, meaning you can start at any time during the year. In 2013 Ofsted graded our teaching, learning and assessment at Grade 1, which is the highest achievable outcome. In March 2021 Ofsted visited our centre and approved our delivery of Apprenticeships, providing some excellent feedback along the way, including:

- " Leaders understand fully the specific local needs in which they operate. For example, they structure the training to help apprentices understand the diverse backgrounds of the children they care for"

- "Employers work closely with the provider’s tutors. They receive up-to-date information about the progress of their apprentices. Effective and timely careers guidance before and throughout apprentices’ training are linked to apprentices’ future plans"

- "Throughout their apprenticeship, apprentices grow in confidence"

- "apprentices gain substantial new knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout their apprenticeship"

- "Leaders and managers have promoted a culture of keeping staff and apprentices
safe"
(Ofsted 2021)

We’re accredited by some of the largest awarding organisations in England, including Pearson Edexcel and TQUK. We access Government funding which can often cover most of the cost of training. We always carry out an eligibility assessment to establish what funding or grants each Apprentice and employer can access. Our professional and friendly team works closely with employers to help them to set up their Apprenticeship account and ensure all rules and requirements for funding are met.
