Sports Day isnβt just for the childrenβ¦ sometimes the teachers like to get involved too! π
This year, our staff took to the track in inflatable costumes for a race that was full of laughs, determination, and a few unexpected obstacles with an egg and spoon.
From the starting line to the finish, the competition was fierce, the costumes were wobbly, and the entertainment was top class, some staff had visibility problems.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped make Sports Day such a memorable event. Which inflatable racer was your favourite? ππββοΈπββοΈ

π Prayer and Liturgy β We Are Commissioned π
We reflected on what it means to be commissioned β to be sent on an important mission. A special focus of our liturgy was our wonderful Mini Vinnies, whose motto is "Turning Concern into Action." Members of the group shared how they pray, discuss, and plan ways to make a positive difference in our school, local community, and wider world through their See, Think, Do approach.
In our Gospel reading (Matthew 9:36β10:8), we heard how Jesus had compassion for the people and sent His disciples out on a mission. Through our worship, we explored how Jesus commissioned His disciples to share the Good News and God's love with others, and how He continues to call each one of us to do the same today.Together, we reflected on the question: How many helpers does God need to share His love? The answer was clear β lots! Every one of us is called to be a helper, sharing God's love through our words and actions.
Our Mini Vinnies and CAFOD groups beautifully embody the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, promoting human dignity, solidarity, and service to others. Through every act of kindness and charity, they continue Christ's mission in our world. As we concluded our time together, we prayed for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and reflected on the question:
How can we turn our concern into action this week? What can we see, think, and do to make a difference?
"Come, Holy Spirit, guide our way."

This afternoon, our Year 3 children learned about Judaism and the celebration of Passover. They explored the Seder plate and discovered how each symbolic food helps tell the story of the Israelitesβ escape from slavery in Egypt.
Here are some examples of their work.

Our Corpus Christi Procession 7th June
What a truly beautiful celebration of Corpus Christi. Thank you to Fr Simon for a beautiful Mass and procession and to Michael Thompson.
It was especially lovely to see our First Holy Communion children laying petals before the Blessed Sacrament and carrying candles as we processed together in faith. The music throughout was simply beautiful.
Our sincere thanks also to Mr Barton for the wonderful photographs, which have captured the spirit and beauty of the day so perfectly.
As we processed with the Eucharist, we were reminded of our calling to take Jesus out into the world, witnessing to His presence in our lives and in our community.
βI am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.β (John 6:51)

π Prayer and Liturgy β The Bread of Life π
This morning we reflected on the things we need in order to live: food, water, shelter, clothing, family and love. We considered how essential food and water are for our bodies.
Looking ahead to Sunday's celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), we explored the wonderful mystery of the Eucharist. In Sunday's Gospel (John 6:51-58), Jesus calls Himself the Living Bread, reminding us that He nourishes not only our bodies but also our heart, mind and soul.
We reflected on the words spoken at Holy Communion when Fr Simon says, "Corpus Christi" and we respond, "Amen", meaning "I agree." With eyes of faith, we believe that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist, nourishing us, healing us and helping us to live as His disciples.
The children spent time quietly welcoming Jesus into their hearts and thinking about how they can welcome Him into their lives through their words and actions this week.
We concluded our prayer with the beautiful prayer Anima Christi, and we received Fr Simon's blessing, and learned about the Corpus Christi Procession taking place after the 10:30am Mass on Sunday. Everyone is warmly invited to join in this special celebration of faith.
π Jesus, Bread of Life, nourish our hearts and help us to grow closer to You each day.
