I don’t want to let my thankfulness pass and I keep saying on here how absolutely made up I am about UDevelop winning the community garden.

After seeing the people this week who put their time and effort into the process of it and helping run the weekend!!! I am forever grateful.

Everyone who took part has grown as a person and said what a truly terrific weekend it was for them.

I would like to say from the bottom of my heart that I am forever grateful to our wonderful staff members, volunteers and most of all our learners who we love to progress in every process of the community interest company and its activities and events

You make this work!!!

As part of our mission to support people to rebuild confidence, improve their wellbeing and create positive, sustainable futures, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has played a part in bringing our Community Garden to life this year.

What started as a conversation during one of our Walk & Talk sessions months ago soon grew into an idea, then into further talks, sketches and designs, before becoming the vibrant space you see today.

James dedicated countless hours designing and creating the incredible backboard, while I couldn’t resist adding a little sparkle along the way! Our amazing learners and volunteers from our Chorley and South Ribble drop-ins then brought the garden to life by creating the wonderful characters that for us told a story of individuality and diversity.

Myself and James have worked in partnership building up the garden and creating a magical kingdom that these characters could live in using clever methods of planting and utilising our vegetables from Tatton Gardens that we have grown.

The hard work didn’t stop there. Over the last week and throughout this weekend, so many people have helped maintain the garden, prepare our display and support our stall, welcoming visitors with warmth, enthusiasm and pride.

Every person who has given their time, creativity and encouragement has helped create something far bigger than a flower show display. You’ve helped create opportunities, friendships, confidence and a real sense of belonging.

I am incredibly proud of everyone who believes in the vision of UDevelop CIC, supports what we stand for and wants to help us continue growing and changing lives.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your kindness, commitment and belief in our organisation means more than you’ll ever know.

We won GOLD and the Community Garden of the Year 2026 award at the Chorley Flower show!!!
