Who supports the people who are supporting the community?

This week and last week alone, our team of dedicated professionals has worked with over 120 people across Chorley East, helping individuals to improve their wellbeing, sustain progress, and access the support they need to live healthier and more independent lives.

Many of the people we support are living with severe mental health conditions, disabilities, anxiety, isolation and complex needs. Some have required urgent signposting and multi-agency support due to experiencing suicidal thoughts and significant mental health challenges.

This work is not a one-person job. It takes experienced staff, trusted multi-agency partnerships and a strong community network.

It also requires investment.

We believe that preventative, community-based support saves lives, reduces pressure on crisis services and helps people regain hope and stability. Yet organisations like ours cannot continue to deliver these essential services without the support and partnership of our local authority.

We are calling on our local council, combined authority and decision-makers to recognise the impact being achieved every day in Chorley East and to work alongside community organisations that are already delivering positive outcomes for residents.

Behind every statistic is a person who needed someone to listen, guide and support them. UDevelop Community services should not be left fighting for survival when they are helping to prevent people from reaching crisis point.

Our group have a 6 week journey to take part in and grow new transferable skills for personal and career development.
