🍎🍌 Reception's Fruity Fun! 🍍🍊

In Reception, we have been practising our chopping skills as part of our learning. We read the story Handa's Surprise and explored the different fruits featured in the book.

Using safety knives, the children carefully chopped the fruits and investigated what was inside, discovering lots of different seeds and stones. πŸ”πŸŒ±

This afternoon, we enjoyed tasting the fruits and talking about our favourites. It was a wonderful hands-on activity that developed our fine motor skills, encouraged curiosity and helped us learn more about the foods we eat. 😊

πŸ₯” Year 2 Potato Harvest! πŸ₯”

Year 2 have been watering, observing and patiently waiting for 100 days for their potatoes to grow. Today, the exciting moment arrived as we harvested our crop!

The children loved discovering the potatoes they had grown and were so proud to take a few home to cook and enjoy with their families. 🌱

This hands-on experience really brought learning about where our food comes from to life. It was wonderful to see the children’s excitement, curiosity and pride as they celebrated the results of their hard work. πŸŒΏπŸ‘

What a wonderful day our Year 2/3 children had in Blackpool! We explored the zoo, practised our map-reading skills, and discovered lots of fascinating facts about different habitats. The children were enthusiastic learners throughout the day, and everyone had a fantastic time.

This morning, Year 2 joined thousands of children across the UK for a live Zoom lesson.

The children shared lots of fantastic ideas, adventurous vocabulary, pictures and discussions, which helped them create their own exciting stories about playing football in the World Cup. Their enthusiasm and creativity shone through, and they certainly got their writing right into the back of the net! ⚽✍️

Well done, Year 2!

Today, Reception learned about different types of clouds. They explored cloud formations, then went outside to lie down and cloud spot, using their imaginations to see shapes in the sky. The children finished by drawing what they saw. 🌀️🎨

🎒 Year 6 Visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach 🎒

As part of their Design and Technology topic on fairgrounds, Year 6 enjoyed an exciting visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They took part in an educational workshop exploring the design and engineering behind the rides before experiencing the attractions themselves.

Despite the wet weather, the children remained enthusiastic throughout the day. We were incredibly proud of their impeccable behaviourβ€”they were a credit to the school and excellent ambassadors for our community.
