We are back!
Welcome to the new school year.
It may only be the first day, but so far, so good! Looking around the classes this morning, pupils looked settled, happy and as though they had never been away.
A lot of work has taken place over the summer to get school ready for today. At the main site, we now have solar panels, an additional hygiene room, a new medical room, an extra teaching space and a number of areas that have been newly decorated. A big thank you to Jordan, our Premises and Health & Safety Leader, for managing all of the logistics involved.
We also have a brand-new school website, with some excellent new photographs and lots of updated information. Thank you to Reece, our Senior IT Technician, for putting it all together. Have a look when you get the chance.
Over the coming year, Helen McIntyre will also be leading some new parent partnership sessions, so please look out for more information about these.
In addition, we will be making an exciting announcement in the next couple of weeks…
On a more personal note, this will be my final year at Cleaswell Hill School. I will be retiring next summer after 22 years at the school — and no, that isn't the exciting announcement!
I wanted parents and families to hear this directly from me, particularly as the advertisement for the next Headteacher will be published shortly. Recruitment is expected to take place before October half term, which will allow plenty of time for a thorough transition.
That is still some way off. For now, my focus is firmly on the year ahead, and I intend to make my final year at Cleaswell Hill the best one yet.
Welcome back everyone — here's to a great year.
Mike
