Whenever I tell someone what I do for a living, it’s never a brief conversation. The questions start rolling in: "How did you get into that?" "How does it work?" "How do people find you?" And as the conversation unfolds, there's often the question: "Is it seasonal?"
The answer is YES - my work certainly sees seasonal fluctuations. There are certain times of the year when people are particularly motivated to make major life changes. The New Year is an obvious one, with resolutions flying around and the sense of a fresh start. But another peak time is September.
No matter how many years it's been since we left school, we still get that "new term" feeling. Summer ends, and with the arrival of a new season, we’re driven to refocus on our goals. September sees a surge in career development activities and gym memberships as people re-commit to their ambitions. For those seeking a life partner, simply joining an app might feel either too passive or too time-consuming. That's when many start looking for more effective alternatives, leading to a rise in enquiries and sign ups for my services.
So, here's to the start of a new school year - may it be filled with fresh opportunities and renewed motivation.

“It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.”

Are you a ‘procrasti-dater’? - A person who wants to get into a relationship or start dating but it never feels like the right time and you end up doing absolutely nothing to move forward?
‘Procrasti-dating’ is a common pattern we see in matchmaking and coaching clients. It keeps a person ‘safe’ but doesn’t help them move towards the relationship they would like.
‘Procrasti-daters’ have unrealistic expectations of themselves, believing that they need to change something before they begin to date. ‘Procrasti-daters’ find themselves thinking things like 'I'll date when I have more time', 'I need to get ‘x’ done first', and 'I'll join the apps again after this promotion.'
You might be a ‘procrasti-dater’ if:
You want to get back into dating, but have a list of other activities and distractions that come first.
You find yourself having ideas of what you could do, but then judge yourself and your ideas and kick yourself later for not following through or taking any action
You feel like you need to find out some kind of dating secret to reduce your odds of failing and thus spend extended energy reading up on dating and relationships all from the comfort of your own home - is that how you found this post?!
We can reassure you that you don't need to be perfectly "ready" to at least move your love life forward. We help clients understand their dating patterns and provide a combination of dating consultancy, coaching and values-based matchmaking. You CAN work towards that promotion AND date at the same time.
So instead of ‘procrasti-dating’, why not book in a call with one of our team to discuss how we can help you to get off the sofa or from behind your desk and onto dates with like-minded London-based professionals.

"Hello Kate
I hope you're well.
Just letting you know that L and I were married last Saturday! We had a tiny ceremony due to the virus situation but it was a wonderful day & we are thrilled. Thanks once again for setting us up.
Best, C"
Congratulations to the lovely couple 👩❤️👨
