Our Story
Hi I'm James Ward, thanks for taking the time to read WardADT’s story. I joined the police service in 2005 covering a variety of roles before specialising as a Traffic Police Constable within the Metropolitan Police Service, Roads & Transport Policing Command (Traffic Division). I left the police service in 2017 as a qualified Met Police Advanced Driver (Pursuit, Level 1) and Advanced Vehicle Examiner (PG9) then qualified as a FutureQuals Emergency Response Driving Instructor holding the L4DERADI also obtaining the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (PGCE) before achieving the highly distinguished National Principal Assessor [NPA] status to train other emergency response driving instructors. I’m a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (Highest Grade A, Score 51/51) on the DVSA Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers (ORDIT Grade A), DVSA Fleet Registered Instructor and Fleet Train the Trainer with additional vocational teaching and assessing qualifications including L4IQA, L4CET and L3CAVA. I’m also an ex-Advanced Driving Examiner for RoSPA and IAM RoadSmart having performed this role for over 7 years before specialising in teaching advanced and emergency response driving within the NHS. I'm genuinely passionate about road safety, advanced driving and training/coaching others seeking to improve their driving to their fullest potential. Having attended countless serious and often unfortunate fatal road traffic collisions where more often than not driver error has been a major cause, I have seen first-hand where the benefits of advanced and defensive driving techniques could have been used which would have prevented such incident in the first place. The skill of advanced driving is an ongoing one and something which requires constant development, passing a driving test is simply the first step in developing your craft, lets make you the best driver you are capable of being, I look forward to helping you fulfil your driving aspirations.
