The new school year is almost here, which means it’s time for the Friends of The Ongar Academy to get back into action! 💪🎉

We’re looking for some lovely local people to join us and help make things happen for the students at The Ongar Academy . ❤️

The Friends are all about bringing people together, having a bit of fun and, most importantly, raising money to give the students opportunities and extras that make their school experience even better. 🎓✨

The weather certainly hasn’t stopped us at The Ongar Academy! We have had very high attendance, water sprinklers, a longer lunch and ice lollies. Students spent the majority of the day inside, protected from the sun and learning! Our core value is Resilience - we practice what we preach!

Amelia applied to our course just two weeks before it started and has simply flown from the word go.

She is now heading towards the completion of her training to become an English teacher and is set to gain QTS in June. She is placed at The Ongar Academy, where she was also a former student, and will also be starting her Early Career Teacher years there.

🎉 We’re excited to introduce our 23 Epping Forest Youth Councillors from across the district, who are now officially in training.

The group includes six returning Youth Councillors and 17 new members, with two representatives from each secondary school within Epping Forest and five independent councillors either home educated or from schools outside the district.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be spotlighting each councillor—so keep an eye out to hear their winning personal campaign statements.
