The Year 12 balloon tower challenge was a great way to end to our first (full) week back. A symbol of how all of us aspire to work together with curiosity and creativity towards a common goal, based on teamwork and mutual respect. Wishing all members of our community a well-deserved weekend!

We very much look forward to welcoming all interested Year 5 and Year 6 parents to our Open Evening on Thursday 1 October, 5-8pm. Come and experience our school community for yourself! No need to book – everyone welcome throughout the evening. Headteacher’s presentation will be at 5, 6 and 7pm.

Our community was complete again as all students from Year 7 to Year 13 returned today. Our Values assemblies focused on 'Excellence' and how this is often (wrongly) reduced to purely 'being the best' or 'beating others'.
Instead, our definition of excellence means that everyone should aspire to become excellent at being themselves and reaching for personal bests instead of beating others.

Excellence comes in as many different forms as we have students. What we expect from everyone in our community is to do their best every day and respond to the feedback they get. This applies to lessons, homework, sport, extra-curricular but also to friendships and - most importantly - to excellence in character.

It was a privilege to have our Year 7s in school today who met their tutors, completed a treasure hunt around school, tried out lots of different extra-curricular activities from pickleball to origami and had their induction to 'How to develop excellence in character'. A great start to 2026/27!

A reminder that Tuesday and Wednesday are INSET days. Year 7s will start on Thursday (3 Sept) and all other year group start on Friday (4 Sept). We have emailed all parents with two key reminders about:

1) Uniform and
2) New smartphone rules

Please ensure that your child is aware of both so they are set up for the best possible start to their school year. We very much look forward to starting the academic year 2026/27 and to welcoming our students back this week!
