We thought the heron had managed to eat all our fish so decided that now was the time to empty the pond ready for the new liner. We were AMAZED at how much life was in our pond ❤️ we discovered 6 very clever fish that had managed to hide, some frog spawn and lots and lots of frogs (we think about 30!) that we didn’t even realise were there. All are being kept safe while we repair the pond before we put them all back where they belong 🐸 🐠

Foraging, drilling, making and creating 🎄 our little elves have been very busy finding all kinds of uses for the extra moss gathered, problem solving with loose parts, finding big ones and little ones, creating the most wonderful Christmas wreath with our treasures and mark making in Christmas cards to post into the Christmas post box…..always sparing time to share stories together or independently. Great job team Forest Fawns!

We’ve been so excited to watch our tiny caterpillars grow bigger and bigger , eating their special food and spinning their silk. Our caterpillars climbed to the top of their cup and then started their transformation in their cocoons. After moving them to the special butterfly habitat we waited patiently for the beautiful ‘painted lady butterflies’ to emerge. Today we enjoyed successfully releasing the butterflies and seeing them flutter off into their natural environment 🦋

With health warnings for the hot weather we have never been so grateful for our woods, keeping cool in water filled tyres and sleeping amongst the trees 🌳 even the grown ups needed a cool off in the tyres!
