children devised this wonderful role playing all by themselves, pretending they were buying ice creams from the ice cream van, fantastic in the moment playing and planning all by themselves, confident, role playing from handing over money to choosing which flavour ice cream , lovely sharing and taking turns these children are amazing .

The children loved investigating the snails, they went around the garden collecting them carefully, showing lots of curiosity about how they move, and what they look like when they emerge from their shells. A great way of investigating the world we live in.
We love it when the children engage in open ended activities all by themselves, super explorers !!

The children had great fun planting their beans.
Watching with great excitement when they started to grow, Then measuring them, watering them and planting them in our lovely allotment, and it all started with the story of Jack and the beanstalk!
Now we just have to look after them and wait for the beans to grow.
Ask your children about playing beans!! Go on itā€™s good fun!!!

Role playing is a very important part of childrenā€™s learning skills and development
Taking turns and sharing, listening to each other,
using their imagination, speech and language development are to name just a few.
Depending on the type of role play situation, other areas of learning can be cleverly included, like Maths and mark making.
All this fun whilst learning through play.

We love being outside, learning through playing and investigating in so many different ways.

Who knew you could have so much enjoyment from some soap flakes added to water then left over night to thicken...we did and the children loved it.

From investigating the ice in the garden. The children asked how ice was made.
So we made our own.
From choosing a dinosaur or gem, to filling the balloon with coloured water (This was the only bit the children found tricky and needed an adult to help open the neck of the ballooon!). To putting it in the ice box, to unwrapping it once it had froze, to smashing and melting it with water.
The children loved exploring and learning as they played.
