Merganser Consulting provides structured access to international education expertise and to the UK system for professionals from other countries. It has a core team of experienced education management specialists, and wide international networks of experienced organisations and practitioners. Merganser has a strong track record of delivering high quality education management consultancy (mainly in

developing countries), and of offering highly valued courses and other experience in the UK. We offer a range of opportunities tailored to the European Union Erasmus+ grant and funding arrangements. We have worked in many countries around the world and continue to maintain good up to date experience in Britain. We believe strongly that direct international contact between teachers, and between children and young people can have a substantial impact of school performance. Only a few teachers (or schools) have enough time or experience to organise this themselves, so it is necessary to find ways to develop and fund this work: this is always challenging, but we have years of successful experience.

Here in Bath we are beginning to emerge from this very long winter! We have decided that we will run a one-week multinational course in school leadership starting on Monday 4th April. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in this course, please send an email to [email protected] and we will send you further details.

We are planning to increase courses in the future, but with the changes resulting from Brexit, these will probably be in collaboration with European and other international partners. If you want further information, as it emerges - or you want to work as a parter with us - again, please get in touch. We would like to hear from you.

It's been a long time since we were in touch with you. We hope everyone - and your families - have kept well. Now schools are going back to work - and in some parts of Europe are already back - we are giving thought as to how to develop our courses in these very difficult times. We think that - for the sake of the children in our schools - it is more than ever important that education professionals keep in touch on an international basis - and learn from each other.

So how are we going to do that? We are now looking at combinations of on line learning with short visits as and when it is possible. If you are interested in working with us in developing these new kinds of international courses and contact, please get in touch. It would be good to hear from you!

Hi Everyone This is just a post to wish everyone who has had contact (or may have contact in the future!) with Merganser well. We will offer some more courses in Bath just as soon as it is safe to do so, but for the time being we are just like everyone else trying to make sure we get this over as soon as we are able. We are very concerned with what we read about the difficulties our friends and colleagues are experiencing in other parts of Europe and elsewhere in the world. Those of you that have been running - or continue to run - schools have our deepest respect. Be aware that we are thinking of you, and we send you our very warmest good wishes. The photo shows a corner of my garden in Wiltshire and shows that even in these very difficult times, nature carries on and another cycle of growth has begun. Keep well, if you possibly can! Last minute vacancies on a confirmed course!

We have a confirmed course in the City of Bath for teachers from primary schools on the topic of special education needs, starting on Monday 2nd December. There are a small number of vacancies. If you are interested, contact the Courses Director, Andrew Camp, at [email protected]

September in Bath
After the hot weather here in England in June and July, we are finding August cool and there is plenty of rain. As the pictures (taken in Bath yesterday) show it is good for the flowers and the gardens! Our next courses start in September and we still have a few spaces on week long courses starting on 23rd September and on 30th September. Both these dates are definitely confirmed. After that we have the next course starting on November 11th – to be confirmed. Hi everyone!

Many congratulations to successful Erasmus + bidders. Well done - we know it's not easy! And better luck next time to those who were unsuccessful this round. Don't give up - many successful bidders have had to try one or two times before being successful.

And a reminder... We have modular one week courses in Bath starting on the 25th June and 2nd July. All our courses include two full supported days in local schools. We currently still have vacancies on these courses but if you want to join you need to let us know as soon as you can, and by 31st May at the latest. Send an e-mail giving your details to [email protected] and we will come back to you quickly.
