🌞 Something exciting is happening in our village this summer! 🌞

We're delighted to support a fantastic local activity from Adventure Babies, bringing magical storytelling adventures to Luckington this August! 📚✨

Join Charlotte for fun-filled interactive storytelling sessions, including:

🏴‍☠️ Pirate Adventure – 6th August
🐝 Buzzing Bees – 20th August

There are also Mini Adventure storytelling sessions for younger children later in the day, perfect for little explorers.

As a special summer offer, siblings receive 50% off, and older primary-aged siblings can attend for FREE.

If you're looking for something fun to do with your little ones over the holidays while supporting a wonderful local business, these sessions sound like a lovely way to spend time together.

Please see the attached poster for all the details on times and booking. We hope some of our Cherry Blossom Preschool families enjoy these wonderful storytelling adventures! 💛📖

✨ Before they were our amazing preschool team… they were children with big dreams too. ✨

As we get ready to say a very special goodbye to our preschoolers as they head off on their next big adventure into Reception, we thought it would be the perfect time to celebrate the people who have helped them get there. ❤️

Our team spend every day encouraging children to be brave, curious, kind and confident — helping them discover what they’re good at, supporting them through challenges and celebrating every little achievement along the way.

But before they became the educators, carers and role models they are today, they were children with their own dreams, hopes and funny ideas about what the future might hold. 🌈

So we’re taking a little trip back in time to meet our team as children and find out what they dreamed of becoming… and how those dreams compare to the amazing people they are today.

Some dreams came true in unexpected ways, some changed completely, and some show that perhaps they were always destined to work with children. 💕

Can you guess who each childhood photo belongs to before the reveal?

🔥 Forest School Fire Lighting at Cherry Blossom Preschool 🌿

Our latest video gives you a glimpse into one of our favourite Forest School experiences—learning about fire 🔥

Our forest School provides wonderful opportunities for children to build confidence, resilience, independence, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. Learning about fire helps develop communication skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and an understanding of risk and responsibility.

Safety is always our highest priority. Before any fire is lit, children learn clear fire circle rules, understand safe boundaries, and know the importance of listening carefully to instructions.

By introducing managed risks in a controlled environment, children develop respect for fire, learn how to keep themselves safe, and gain valuable life skills—all while making wonderful memories outdoors.

We also had charcoal available for the children to use in their artwork today, and it was lovely knowing they now understand where it comes from and how it's made. Next, we'll be making our own charcoal from the fire to use in future creative activities—another wonderful way to extend their learning through hands-on experiences. 🎨🔥🌿

We hope you enjoy watching our little explorers learn, grow, and thrive around the campfire! 🌳🔥💚

🌸 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Cherry Blossom Team 🌸

As we come to the end of an exceptionally hot week, we wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Cherry Blossom staff team.

Despite working through the heatwave all week, our team have been absolute troopers. They have worked tirelessly to keep the children safe, happy, cool and entertained, all while maintaining the high standards of care that our families expect and deserve.

The extreme temperatures have understandably impacted many schools and nurseries, and we completely appreciate that decisions to close are never taken lightly. Childcare providers always have to carefully consider the safety and wellbeing of both children and staff, taking into account the facilities and resources available to them.

We are incredibly proud that, thanks to the dedication, flexibility and hard work of our team, we have been able to remain open and continue supporting our families throughout the week.

From water play and shaded outdoor activities to plenty of cooling treats and creative indoor fun, our staff have gone above and beyond to help the children enjoy their days despite the soaring temperatures.

Here are just a few photos showing how we've been keeping cool and making the most of the sunshine this week! ☀️💦😊

We are so excited to share some very special news with all our families!

For the second year in a row, we are delighted to welcome back our robin parents, who have chosen our setting once again to build their nest. Today, our preschool children, alongside staff, made the wonderful discovery that there are five eggs🥚 nestled safely inside.

We honestly didn’t think we would be lucky enough to have them return this year, so this has filled us all with excitement and joy. The children were absolutely thrilled to spot the nest and are already showing such curiosity and care as we begin to observe this little family’s journey together.

We can’t wait to share updates with you as we watch this beautiful experience unfold!

At Cherry Blossom Preschool, we love following the children’s interests, and recently they have shown a wonderful curiosity about helping others. To build on this, we were delighted to welcome George and Paige from Tetbury Dentist into the setting.

They spoke to the children about the importance of looking after their teeth and shared a fun and engaging slideshow covering key messages such as brushing twice a day, how long we should brush for, and why we shouldn’t rinse with water afterwards.

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in interactive games, including sorting foods into healthy choices that help keep our teeth strong. They also had the opportunity to use different sized toothbrushes to clean model teeth, which was a big hit!

Each child received a special goodie bag to take home, filled with items to promote good oral health.

We are so grateful to George and Paige for taking the time to visit us and inspire the children in such a fun and meaningful way 🌸

At Cherry Blossom Preschool, we are always looking for meaningful, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and wonder in our children. One of our favourite activities is caring for caterpillars and watching them transform into butterflies.

This experience is incredibly special for the children. They are able to observe, up close, how a tiny caterpillar grows, forms a chrysalis, and eventually emerges as a butterfly. Seeing this transformation happen in real time helps bring learning to life in a way that books or videos simply cannot. It supports their understanding of the natural world and encourages them to ask questions, explore, and make connections.

Caring for the caterpillars also gives the children a sense of responsibility. They take pride in helping to look after them—checking on them each day and learning how to treat living things with gentleness and respect. These small but meaningful moments help to build empathy and confidence.

We also notice how much this experience encourages conversation. The children love to share their observations, describe what they see, and talk about the changes happening. It’s wonderful to see their language and vocabulary grow through something they are genuinely excited about.

When the butterflies are ready, we release them into the environment. This is always a joyful moment, and it helps the children understand the importance of caring for living things and allowing them to thrive in their natural habitat.

We feel very lucky to be able to share experiences like this with your children, helping to nurture their curiosity, independence, and love of the world around them

World Book Day 2026 📖 ✨️

We had a lovely day celebrating on 5th March, with a week of special visitors including lovely Holly from Drama Tots Chippenham, Malmesbury, Tetbury and Cirencester and Amanda from the wonderful Barn Owl Books who not only read a new story to our children, but kindly gifted it to us.

We celebrated by bringing in and sharing our favourite books, dressing in our PJs or fancy dress and talking about which books we've chosen to spend our book tokens on.

Our favourite book this year is Bert and the Bubble by Kim Hillyard 💚

Encouraging children to go barefoot in safe, natural environments truly fosters healthy growth, a deeper connection to nature, and supports their overall well-being.

Did you know?

The sensory and brain development benefits are equally impressive. The soles of the feet contain more than 200,000 nerve endings, so walking on varied natural terrains stimulates these receptors, enhancing proprioception—the body’s ability to sense its position in space. The constant tactile feedback from textures such as sand, mud, or moss helps forge new neural connections in the brain, supporting cognitive growth and spatial awareness.

Our children loved this activity ❤️ 🍃 👣
