Class of 2026 celebrate a future full of opportunity

Students, families and staff are celebrating today as the Class of 2026 collect their examination results.

The school is delighted with the strong results achieved in English and mathematics, which continue to exceed the national average. There was also a notable increase in the number of students securing top grades, with 27% achieving at least one grade 7, 8 or 9. Students performed exceptionally well in religious studies, art, photography, textiles, 3D art & design, media studies, French, and hospitality & catering, while also achieving success across a range of other academic and vocational subjects.

Today’s results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience shown by students throughout their time at the school. Across a broad range of academic and vocational subjects, students have secured outcomes that reflect their commitment and achievements.

The school is delighted that its Year 11 students have secured a wide range of exciting post-16 destinations. Most students are progressing to Level 3 pathways, including A Levels, T Levels and advanced vocational courses, studying subjects ranging from science and mathematics to law, engineering and the creative arts. Others have secured apprenticeships or specialist pathways, including the Armed Forces, animal management and equine studies.

While every student deserves to be applauded for their achievements today, special recognition goes to those outstanding individuals who attained an exceptional number of top grades including Matthew, Lucy, Dominika, Wilbur, Lily, Emilio, Farah, Eddie, Lucy and Megan.

The school is particularly proud to share that Matthew was named the highest-performing student in Cambridge OCR’s GCSE History B (Schools History Project) this summer. This is an exceptional achievement and a testament to his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm for the subject.

Success is always a collective effort and today’s celebrations belong to our whole community. Most importantly, I would like to congratulate every student receiving results today. I am proud of each student whether moving on to A Levels, vocational programmes or apprenticeships and wish them every success in the future; I am confident they will continue to achieve great things.”

Ormiston Six Villages Academy is incredibly proud of the year group and looks forward to seeing them thrive in the next stage of their education, training and careers, with everyone wishing them every success and happiness for the future. The students leave the school with much to be proud of and will always remain valued alumni of the Six Villages community.

At the end of term, we came together for a whole academy assembly to celebrate the end of a fantastic academic year. The event was an opportunity to reflect on everything our students have achieved over the past year and to recognise the hard work, commitment and determination shown across the academy.

We celebrated the results of Sports Day, congratulating students on their outstanding performances, teamwork and house spirit. We also recognised the impressive achievements of students in Sparx, highlighting their dedication to independent learning and the excellent progress they have made throughout the year. Alongside this, we celebrated a wide range of academic, sporting and personal achievements, acknowledging students who have consistently demonstrated our values and made a positive contribution to academy life.

We were also delighted to hear from our newly elected Head Students and Deputy Head Students, who addressed the academy and shared their aspirations for the year ahead. They spoke confidently about the importance of student leadership, representing their peers and continuing to build on the academy’s successes.

The assembly also featured a number of fantastic musical performances from our talented students, whose confidence, skill and enthusiasm provided a fitting finale to the year. It was a wonderful occasion that showcased the many successes of our academy community and gave us the chance to celebrate a truly memorable and successful academic year together.

We would like to wish all of our students and families a restful, fun and safe summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming all students back to the academy on 3 September 2026 and beginning another exciting and successful year together.

In the final week of term, each year group enjoyed a special Celebration Assembly to recognise their achievements and successes throughout the year.
It was a wonderful event, made even more special by the many parents and family members who joined us to celebrate. It was fantastic to see our school community come together to recognise the hard work, progress and positive contributions of our pupils.

🏅 Sports Day 2026 – A Fantastic Success! ☀️

Despite the soaring temperatures, our Sports Day on Friday was a huge success and a wonderful celebration of sport, teamwork and school spirit.
Students threw themselves into a wide range of events throughout the day, including track races, javelin, discus, shot put, high jump, long jump and tug of war. This year also saw the introduction of a brand-new event, "Rob the Bank", which quickly became a favourite and added an extra element of fun and excitement to the competition.

It was fantastic to see so many students giving their all, encouraging one another and embracing every challenge with enthusiasm. Whether competing for a personal best, supporting friends from the sidelines or stepping outside their comfort zone to try something new, our students demonstrated our school values throughout the day.

Persevere was evident in every event, as students pushed themselves despite the heat and never gave up. Ambition shone through as they aimed high, challenged themselves and celebrated their achievements. Most importantly, Community was on display everywhere, with students cheering on their peers, working together and creating a positive atmosphere for everyone involved.

A particular highlight was seeing students singing and dancing along to classics such as YMCA while supporting their fellow competitors. The energy, encouragement and smiles around the field made the day truly special.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our former students who returned to help run events and support staff throughout the day. Their willingness to give back to the school community was greatly appreciated and helped ensure the event ran smoothly.

Well done to everyone who took part and contributed to making Sports Day such a memorable occasion. We are incredibly proud of the determination, ambition and community spirit shown by all involved. 🏆👏

In Computing lessons, students have been recreating their own alternative World Cup Quiz tournaments and exploring how different outcomes can emerge.

Across the various tournaments, England were victorious in one competition, while France, the USA and Egypt also lifted the trophy, with Egypt claiming the title twice.

Well done to all the students who took part. It’s been great to see their creativity, enthusiasm and competitive spirit throughout the challenge.

A huge thank you to Rachael from the West Sussex Growers Association for visiting our Year 7 students and delivering engaging lessons on horticulture and the real-life applications of maths. The sessions helped students see how mathematical skills are used every day within the horticulture industry, further enhancing our careers education and giving valuable insight into future career pathways. Rachael also brought along a fascinating box of bees, helping students learn about the vital role pollinators play in food production and the environment. Our students were fantastic throughout the sessions, showing great enthusiasm and curiosity. As a well-deserved treat, they were rewarded with some delicious strawberries at the end of the lesson! Thank you, West Sussex Growers Association for supporting our students and helping to bring learning to life.

Our Year 7 Design Technology students have been busy creating their very own wooden phone stands, showcasing both creativity and practical workshop skills.

Throughout the project, students have learned how to safely and effectively use a range of tools and techniques, including sanding tools, coping saws, and the vice. These hands on experiences help develop precision, problem solving skills, and confidence in the workshop.
