Our last class of the year is Tuesday 5th December starting at approximately 2.15. As normal, the class will be followed by drinks and nibbles. Christmas outfits welcome!

Unfortunately, I have to cancel tomorrow's classes (31st Oct). I look forward to seeing everyone next week.
Apparently temperatures will hit 28deg tomorrow and maybe higher. In line with Club policy, tomorrow's (5th September) classes are cancelled.
I now have a lot of people to telephone, so if you can telephone other class members for me who may not access their emails (or even have email) or facebook, I will be very grateful.
A reminder to everyone that there will not be a class next Tuesday, 25th July. Keep practicing!

Another class cancelled?
If temperatures reach 28 and above I have to follow the guidelines of my professional body (and my insurance company!).
If, as is being forecast, the temperature for Tuesday 19th is 30 or maybe even higher, there will unfortunately not be classes.
I am sorry about this but it is my responsibility to ensure we work safely and without risk.
Lets keep an eye on the forecasts and hope that the temperatures come down.
WHY EXERCISE?
Well apart from maintaining muscle strength, flexibility and boosting endurance, it's good for the brain! According to a report in the journal Alzheimer's & Dementia, researchers from the University of California examined the brains of 400 older people after their deaths and found those who were more physically active had higher levels of specific proteins known to enhance connections between brain cells.
These raised protein levels were found in several parts of the brain including the hippocampus, the area responsible for memory.
