🎉 Huge congratulations to Cardboard Box Theatre Company on their recent tour! The group made up of five of our recent graduates, from all three of our BA (Hons) programs, have just completed a tour of the UK with their show ‘Seasons’, ending with a very successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The performance made during their third year has received a number of 4 and 5 star reviews and was selected to be showcased as part of ‘The Best of Kids Fringe’ at The Three Sisters during their time in Edinburgh. The performance has also been nominated as a top 5 finalist for Theatre Villages 'Satchel of Dreams' Award.

At the start of their tour, the ensemble were also able to run a workshop with Think 18 Charity with support from the department's ChiTheatreWorks fund. Think 18 participants were able to make their own puppet shows and learn makaton and a song from the show.

Huge congratulations to our alumni theatre company On The Nose who are having a brilliant run with their performance Man!Fest at the Pleasance Courtyard Edinburgh Festival 🎉

The company made up of four of our BA (Hons) Acting graduates have sold out repeatedly, with a queue of people after the show waiting for a signed poster and handmade friendship bracelets from the actors who appear on a stage as a famous boy band.

Man!Fest has had a range of brilliant 4 star reviews, and a 4 star review from WhatsOnStage, and named a ‘West End-ready hit’. The company have had exciting interview opportunities including being on the Persistent and Nasty podcast, as well as being featured on BBC Edinburgh Unlocked (released soon). Yesterday they were on Merv’s Pick of the Fringe, and they performed a 6 min slot in Pleasance One (a 400-seater venue) which was lots of fun.

The company have been making the most of the networking opportunities and were also invited to a drag king meet up where they met other drag kings in Edinburgh.

It's also been wonderful to see our current level 6 students up at the festival supporting the work!

This is such a well-deserved milestone. Here's to the next exciting chapter! Rose was also this year's recipient of our Innovation and Creativity Award – recognising a students originality, imagination and commitment to developing their craft.

Thanks to the support of The Nest at Chichester Festival Theatre, Rose will be spending dedicated development time bringing a brand-new theatre project to life. We can't wait to see where this journey takes them!

🎉 We're delighted to celebrate some fantastic news for one of our talented graduating BA (Hons) Acting students!

A huge congratulations to Jack on recently signing with GMM (Gregg Millard Management). An exciting milestone in what is already proving to be a brilliant year.

Just a month or so after finishing his degree, Jack has been cast in a leading role in his first professional short film. It's wonderful to see his hard work and talent being recognised.

Jack is also currently on a UK tour of his final year production work. His production of Seasons with four of our other graduating students, will be at a number of venues and the Edinburgh Festival.

We're incredibly proud to be part of his journey and look forward to following his continued success. Congratulations, Jack!

Today we welcomed back our former Chi Theatre colleague, Professor of Theatre and Performance at Rose Bruford, Brian Lobel to campus to finalise details on a really exciting PhD partnership between the two schools.

Rose Bruford College, a specialist performance and production arts institution based in Sidcup, London, is partnering with the University of Chichester, the South Coast university widely known for its excellent performing arts degrees, to offer a new PhD programme.

Together, the two institutions will support doctoral researchers whose work moves between studio, stage and critical reflection, combining academic excellence with hands-on creativity, characterised by a spirit of adventure and a willingness to be bold in both practice and enquiry.

Such a joy to be connecting with Brian again.
