I have been nominated! ✨✨

Very surprisingly I have been nominated for an award with the BABY MASSAGE & YOGA TEACHER TRAINING birth and baby awards ceremony and celebration.

*Email came through as a complete surprise. So thank you to those who have nominated for me.

This is a ceremony to celebrate the hard work and dedication of those who hold space for parents and their little explorers 🤍

My nomination is in the
BABY CLASSES category.

The fun part starts next. Voting opens on the 1st of October
Honestly just being nominated is pretty awesome and I'm truly grateful. If I won I would be in shock.
It's a special feeling to be seen in the work you dedicate yourself too in all ways. 🌿🤍

I shall share how to vote once open.

September is nearly here! 🌿🤍
Normally by now we are looking forward to getting back to classes and everyone has booked onto the new term.
And trust me, I long to get back to classes and see you all.

But as you know I have been in the process of getting the new Nook HQ built
The studio was ordered quite some time ago but there have been setbacks, delays and now it's finally being delivered this weekend.
Although it won't take long to build, electrics and decor needs to be complete along with safety checks and the final touches.

After some thought with my little team, we have agreed that with people coming and going, deliveries, building and more it won't be safe or appropriate to hold a space for families here while this is all going on.

So we have estimated that mid September classes will be open and the new HQ will be ready for our sessions to be in our new dedicated space!
I know it's a long wait. But it is only a couple more weeks and we can get back to normal.
The website will be updated and once classes can be up and live I will be sharing here and there!

I can however still hold private spaces and I am looking to hold some workshops in a temporary location. Those details will be shared soon.
For now. I'm afraid you will need to wait just a couple more weeks 🙏🏽
Thank you for all the messages and I really hope I can see you when the term starts at The Nook HQ

A few more followers to The Nook family.
It's time to reintroduce myself. ☺️

Josie here!
I am a mother of four hoomans, early years qualified and play development.
I love food, the woods and the sea. I love being home and reading or watching a random series I don't ever finish. (Still have finished Greys Anatomy)
I believe in nature, magick and following what she has to offer.
I love to see play happen organically, but equally love offering opportunities for families to enjoy together.

The Natural Sensory Nook 🌿 is centred around the natural world and play. How connection, development and learning can happen and how we don't need to spend money to offer the real ways of learning.

The Nook is a place I needed when I was a new mother, it's always an honour to offer these opportunities for children but even more so for parents. I work with you as a whole, not just your baby. Those first 1001 days and beyond, can be the foundations to understanding how your child learns but also who you are as a parent.
I'm here to support, guide and play. 🤍🌿

Babies are curious about the world from the very moment they are born.

Everything is brand new, and while they are eager to explore, they also need to feel safe, secure and connected to you as they do. There is no rush. No pressure. No need to overstimulate.

In those early weeks and months, play is beautifully simple. It's about quiet observation, gentle moments and building connections together.

We often think we need endless toys, flashing lights and noisy gadgets, but the truth is your baby doesn't need lots. The most important part of their play is you. Your face, your voice, your touch and your presence are the greatest resources they will ever have.

This is why our Mono Nook is such a loved part of our Sprouts classes. Using gentle monotone resources allows babies to focus without becoming overwhelmed. High contrast images and simple materials support developing eyesight, strengthen visual tracking, encourage early brain connections and help babies begin to make sense of the world around them.

Whether it's a soft toy, a simple cloth book or a few black and white flash cards, these gentle resources offer so much without needing to do too much.

Always remember... less is more. 🌿🤍

Sometimes the quietest moments of play are the ones doing the biggest work.

When toddlers start to have the confidence to walk and want to explore their environment, bare feet are best (if safe)
At The Nook I encourage bare feet at all ages, including our toddlers. *Sticky feet as we have come to know them
This is because the information received through the soles of our feet is invaluable, this is still true for you as an adult.
So when we are allowing for babies and toddlers to explore, climb, walk and discover their surroundings, bare feet will not only offer new information but it also helps build balance, muscle & tendon strength.
This will continue to support their development as they grow and this isn't just in class, there are opportunities to allow exploration and promote this area in the natural world.

So remember, if you can and it's safe, allow for bare feet. Why not join your toddler and experience the world with them?

The Natural Sensory Nook is here to support the world of connection and play.
I hold you while you hold your baby.
Sensory classes at The Nook are not overwhelming and don't expect you to follow some play routine with no time to breathe in-between. We gently start each session and offer opportunities to discover.
The best part?
You do this together.
No worries about the outside world, no responsibility just you and your child exploring together and allowing for imagination to be the only thing that controls the outcome.

I'm here to offer these moments and support you in your babys development and show you how you can continue supporting them to be strong, wild and independent but still need your presence to offer play, love and connection and most importantly growth.

What we learn in baby massage 🌿

Connection & bonding time
Community building (got to love that village)
That you are not alone
How touch can be a powerful way to help your baby
That these little moments don't have to look insta perfect
That you can have a quiet moment
That toast is still amazing when someone else makes it 😊
That little & often is just right

At The Nook these sessions might feel like you are here to just massage your baby, but let me tell you.
We don't rush. There is no one size fits all and however looks for you, it is perfect! 🤍
I am here to guide you, not teach you, I'm here to offer alternative ways to connect and promote wellness and health.

As always any session at The Natural Sensory Nook is no ordinary session. 🌿
