Have you joined The EVC Register yet? Join over 3,700 EVCs already on the register to record your qualifications and help raise the profile of the EVC role. 👋

What is it? The EVC Register is a single, online register of trained Educational Visits Coordinators. It’s free to join and open to all EVCs trained on an appropriate EVC course.
You can display your certification(s) and easily share links to enable employers to verify your training. There’s a digital badge to add to your LinkedIn profile too.
Like you, we know what an important role EVCs have in safety, safeguarding and widening opportunities for children and young people. We’ve created the EVC Register to help promote the role and celebrate EVC’s achievements.
EVCs trained by EVOLVE Advice will automatically be added to the Register, but others are welcome to join too. If you’ve got a current EVC certificate from an OEAP Course Director*, all you need to do is complete a short form and once your certificate is verified, your profile will go live. And don’t worry, you can choose how much or how little information you share on the public register.

A chance to step in the footsteps of heroes this week as Simon visits the Normandy beaches to retrace the journey taken by his grandfather. From landing on Sword beach as part of the first wave on D Day to Caen and beyond. The books, the photos, the films are amazing but the impact of standing on the sand and seeing it first hand is impossible to recreate.

After a busy day working with pupils in years 2, 4, 6 at Bolnore School, Tony and Simon headed up to the capital for some CPD. An evening lecture at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) looking at the last century of exploration on Everest and in particular the 1920’s. Really thought provoking and exposed some of the inequalities that were created and still exist on the mountain.

At the weekend we had a great opportunity to take the classroom outside. This Trig point was slightly off route but the group chose to make the diversion to have a look. Whilst there we talked about the Army Ordinance Corps, measuring height and triangulation using the theodolite and grid refences. On route we talked about the crops we came across, the raptors swooping around on the thermals, the water run off eroding the ground and much more.
I'm not a teacher so I can't guarantee the quality of my delivery but 1 thing I can guarantee is that the quality teaching you deliver in your classrooms was put into context in a tangible way over the weekend. We covered maths, geography, biology, history, physics and pshe. DofE is not just for Geography and PE staff.
